This trip takes you through the rural inland area of the Alentejo, which is close to the Spanish border, through landscapes rife with cork oaks, wheat fields and olive trees. In the Alentejo, you will see horses and carriages, gypsies with mules, Moorish-inspired houses with big chimney pots and whitewashed villages that stretch over hills. In early spring, temperatures are mild and wildflowers are in bloom. Indulge yourself with luxurious accommodations and superb cuisine between visits to medieval castles and Roman ruins. History is plentiful; there are prehistoric remains and Roman ruins abound. We'll cycle through Medieval towns clustered with churches and castles, which were part of the fortifications against the Spanish. Medieval hilltop towns like Monsaraz are simply magnificent. Local crafts and arts are flourishing, especially pottery and paintings. The meals and wine will be excellent, and there will be a large variety of local specialties. You will fall in love with the flavors of Portuguese cuisine.

This is a full-service trip with lots of extras! The best way to see a country is from a bicycle, and the Alsace region is no exception. The main attractions of this region in northeast France are the vineyards, gourmet food and historical towns, many with castle remnants and medieval walls. On the first half of the trip you'll cycle along the Route du Vin, a route speckled with thousands of vineyards, excellent wineries and special Alsace cuisine. After fantastic Colmar, the riding in the Rhine Valley (and into Germany for two days) and in the Munster Valley is easy. You'll find the vineyard trails, savoury foods and picturesque villages brimming with half-timbered homes and historic castles very rewarding. With lots of great Alsatian dishes, a fantastic special gourmet dinner, side visits for wine tasting and cheese making, this trip is a perfect combination of athleticism and pleasure

This trip starts in eastern Belgium near the town of Bastogne, where we will learn about one of the most important events of the Second World War: The Battle of the Bulge. After this, we'll enter Luxembourg and travel towards the quiet, historical small towns of Clervaux, Vianden and Echternach. We will balance history with sightseeing places like the castle at Vianden and the abbey at Echternach. We'll also have and chance to visit Luxembourg. This fortified town is spectacular and a perfect side visit on this trip. Since Luxembourg is small, we'll also cross the border into Germany and cycle along the Mosel and Saar rivers. This is an excellent trip combining three countries, arresting nature and enchanting history.

Experience the magic of Tuscany, Italy, from the seat of a bike. The landscape is rugged in this area of outstanding natural beauty. Olive trees, vineyards and cypress trees dot the landscape and history is around every corner. This region is the heart of olive oil and Italian red wine production and is a feast for the senses. Ride by olive groves and vineyards, smell the fermentation of the grapes and, of course, take advantage of every opportunity to taste. Many architectural remnants of Etruscan and Roman times can still stand throughout this incredible Tuscan landscape. The cycling can be challenging, but the rewards are high. You'll be dazzled by the natural landscapes, art and architecture of this region.
