The Classical Ride - Along the Danube

On this easy trip you will follow the majestic blue Danube, to experience the breathtaking countryside full of quaint villages and towns that dot both sides of this colorful waterway. Starting on the Enns River just south of the Danube, we will bicycle into the Strudengau and the Nibelingengau regions - considered to be the most beautiful parts of Austria. Later, we'll pass through the Wachau, the center of wine cultivation in Austria. We'll travel through the heartland of the former Habsburg Empire of Austria/Hungary, located at the intersection of the two great trade routes along the Danube and from the Baltic to Italy. Bicycling in this country is a delight; the river is an elegant backdrop for all of the adventures it holds.
