Dry Creek, Russian River, Alexander Valleys
One Day Guided & Two Days of Self-Guided Touring - Casual to Moderate Riding.
Your first day consists of our “Russian River Kayak Tour.” Departing our touring center at 10am, you’ll casually paddle down a pristine stretch of the river, spared for any commercial development. We'll see all sorts of wildlife including egrets, herons, turtles, fish and more! After we finish our 8.5 mile paddle we'll eat lunch in the redwoods before returning to our office.
Your second day will give you a chance to explore our favorite cycling roads in the region, the Dry Creek Valley. You will have the oppurtunity to ride 12-30 miles up the valley, with many amazing wineries along the beautiful West Dry Creek Road. If you're up for a challenging ride you can head all the way up the valley to the Lake Sonoma Overlook. For lunch you can stop by the Dry Creek General Store and pick up some sandwiches to enjoy at a local winery such as Amista or Dry Creek Vineyards.
Another day of self-guided touring gives you the chance to explore another valley or venture further into the surrounding mountains. It’s an easy ride to Sip and spit at Francis Ford Coppola and from there follow the Sculpture Trail north to Geyserville for lunch at “maybe the best restaurant in the world”. For the more adventurous there is the spectacular climb along Sausal Creek past the Stone Street Alexander Mountain Estates and up to the site of the old quicksilver town of Pine Flat. As always, we’ll be happy to give you great suggestions and help you plan a perfect day!

By early afternoon we'll be ready for lunch and our Sonoma style picnic will be waiting! It is our belief that a great bike tour requires great food and since this is Sonoma County, you can expect locally grown, organic, fresh made and plenty of it!
After lunch we'll continue our bicycle tour to another winery, stop for some more scenic views and make our way back to our Touring Center by about 3:30 p.m. The route has some rolling hills along quiet country roads. It is designed for healthy, reasonably fit people who are comfortable riding a bike. The total riding distance is typically between 15-20 miles. Dinner will be at a wonderful wine country restaurant right in town.
