The tour will start off viewing the beautiful Colosseum from top of the Fagutal hill going onwards passing by the Imperial Forums and from there to many more of Rome’s breathtaking ancient spots and hidden treasures, charming corners and beautiful gardens.

Whilst cycling through the small alleys with their amazing Renaissance and Baroque palaces and churches, crossing the hidden squares with their monumental fountains guided by one of our local guides, you will experience this Open Air Museum the upmost. Rome has a lot to offer, so going around by bike a full day, will make sure you don’t have to miss out any of the spots in a relaxing way, ideal if you have just a short visit.

After about an hour's journey by train we will proceed by bike along the Tiber Valley in the Nature Reserve of Alviano and then go all the way up (it's a rather long uphill slope, but the few stretches where it's tough are not too long..... and it's definitely worth it) to delightful Civita di Bagnoregio.

This is what's known as "the dying town". It is one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Italy and it sits atop a plateau of rock that is connected to the rest of the world by just a narrow bridge which can be crossed on foot or by bike. And lastly we will visit Orvieto, a city that is famous not just for its impressive cathedral but in general for its all-Italian beauty and mysterious charm... an amalgam of natural, artistic and historical beauty and breathtaking landscapes.

Aboard a Cannondale E-Bike and in the company of one of our professional local guides, you will swiftly glide from the sun-drenched Colosseum to the Spanish Steps set in dusk, and from the nightly brilliance of the Trevi Fountain to the panoramic view of the enigmatically lit Imperial Forum. Pedal on the Ancient Appian Way, a 2300-year-old cobblestone Roman road while going past ancient Roman ruins, statues, an imperial palace, Christian catacombs and pagan mausoleums. Then leave the "Regina Viarum" to cycle towards the Roman aqueducts rising over the fields on the horizon and follow them on their way back to the center of Rome.

Leave the bustling city center of Rome behind and enjoy a bike ride through the Roman countryside, which inspired 19th-century travellers such as Byron, Goethe and Stendhal. This tour goes 60% off road, along dirt tracks and small paths

Please note that approximately 40% of the route of this tour takes place in the city. We ride carefully chosen city streets, but some traffic is unavoidable to connect the Ancient Appian Way Park to the Aqueducts Park. In the remaining 60% of the route (riding in the parks) we encounter no traffic.

A ride towards the lake of Castel Gandolfo (the summer residence of the Pope), biking through the well preserved Roman countryside, finding yourself in the true nature and discovering landscapes that were caught by numerous famous painters before.

After the Caffarella park the Roman aqueducts will arise making you understand how these masterpieces have had such an influence on human society. At the Capanelle train station the tour will continue by train to Castel Gandolfo. After 30 minutes journey a great path for mountain bikes will lead you around the Albano lake where you can enjoy the real fun of biking. And just when it is time to relax, your guide will lead you to a nice restaurant with a wonderful view on Castel Gandolfo lake.

After lunch it will be time to head back to Rome: a nice descent will set in. Once downhill, the bike tour will follow the ancient Appia Antica; biking on cobble stones that date back more than 2300 years ago and being amazed along the road by tombs, ruins and ancient Roman remains. This tour will be a great chance to see Rome's beautiful surroundings, feel part of ancient Roman history and last but not least enjoy the fun of biking.
