Mallorca Cycling Holiday

This self-guided tour explores northern and central Mallorca from two rural hotels, using a series of loop rides with optional shortcuts and extensions. Days 2 to 4 start from the medieval town of Sineu, taking quiet inland lanes through farmland, wine country and hilltop villages such as Petra, Maria de la Salut and Montuiri. An optional climb to the Randa hermitages rewards riders with sweeping views.

On Day 5 you ride across to Pollença, mostly downhill through almond and carob orchards. The final days loop through the S'Albufera wetlands, past the Alcudia peninsula and its beaches, and around to Cala Sant Vicenç. Routes suit a range of abilities, with the daily distances easily adjusted.

Surface and terrain:
Mainly quiet inland tarmac lanes and local cycle routes through softly rolling countryside. There is an optional dirt/gravel shortcut on Day 2, a 4.5 km dirt track at S'Albufera on Day 6, and one 2.5 km busy road section with a wide shoulder. Daily ascent is roughly 390 to 570 m.

**Weather: **
As a general guide, Mallorca has a Mediterranean climate: mild and pleasant in spring and autumn, and hot in July and August. The season runs March to October, with the shoulder months usually the most comfortable for riding.

Suitable for:
Recreational riders comfortable with 35 to 65 km days on gently rolling terrain. Distances can be shortened or extended, so it suits relaxed riders and keen cyclists alike. Riders wanting steeper climbing can add the optional Randa ascent.
