This bike tour in Vermont, focusing on fall foliage, is considered by Frommer’s to be one of the “World’s 10 Best Bike Tours” and has been named a Forbes Travel Guide “Top 5 US Bike Tour.” See the fall spectacular for yourself as you cruise across Lake Champlain to Westport, New York, then ride through the Adirondack Park to Essex, New York. The entire town is listed on the National Historic Register. Explore the limestone barracks of the Crown Point Historic Site before crossing back over to Vermont and visiting the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. Leaving the lake behind, you’ll head east to the edge of the Green Mountains, stopping to visit the village of Vergennes, loop out past Kingsland Bay State Park, or bike over Little Otter Creek. Cycle through rural farmland to Station Covered Bridge, built in 1865, then continue to Brandon and the Falls of Lana. Visit Bristol and its class town green, follow the New Haven River to the tiny hamlet of Lincoln, and visit Danforth Pewter to admire its timeless pewter crafts (created by Fred Danforth and family since 1755). Venture back toward the lake, passing through one of the country’s only two-lane covered bridges en route to the University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm. Enjoy a festive farewell picnic in Shelburne beneath striking red, orange, and gold foliage.

Vermont Fall Foliage: Lake Champlain Valley Bike Tour MapOne of the top locations in the world for bicycling and foliage is in Vermont – right outside the door of Sojourn’s headquarters in the Lake Champlain Valley. This is a true inn-to-inn Vermont cycling trip as there are no vehicle transfers during the trip. Fly into Burlington, frequently listed as one of the top places to live in the US, and we’ll transport you the short distance to the start of the tour and return you to the airport at the conclusion of the trip.
