The classical tour along the Danube
The cycle path between Passau and Vienna is one of the most popular sections of the Danube cycle path. The level route and well signposted paths make it perfect for families and beginners. There is a lot to discover along the way, so you will proceed slowly to take in the impressive monastery Melk and the Schlögener Schlinge (the Schlögen loop), where you might be inclined to think the Danube flows backwards. And these are just examples of a very small section of the route. The rural beauty of Wachau is best enjoyed in one of the many small wine taverns. The Danube cycle path finally brings you to the heart of the metropolis of Vienna, where artists, emperors and composers have defined Europe for many hundreds of years.
