Taste of Polynesia

Nine days of cycling capture the essence of French Polynesia, linking Mo'orea, Huahine and Bora Bora by quiet coastal roads and short inter-island ferries, with lagoon swims, village stops and easy days woven between rides. After a first day in Papeete exploring the market and cafés, riders take a bike fitting before the ferry to Mo'orea, where a full day's ride around Cook's Bay passes historic Marae Titiroa and climbs to the Belvedere Overlook for sweeping island views.

A shorter ride back to the ferry port returns riders to Papeete for dinner at the Roulettes food trucks, before a ferry carries them on to Huahine. Here the route runs beside Lake Fa'una Nui and past the ancient stone fish traps to Marae Manunu, followed by a free day on Huahine-Iti to swim, snorkel or simply enjoy island time at a relaxed Polynesian pace.

The final push rides back to Fare before a ferry through the Leeward Islands delivers riders to Bora Bora, the "Pearl of the Pacific," for a lagoon-side loop of the island before a farewell boat transfer to the airport. Rather than basing the trip on a cruise ship, Pedalers keeps riders ashore throughout, staying in handpicked boutique lodges including overwater bungalows on Bora Bora, and travelling by local ferries for a more grounded, local perspective on the islands.

Main routes are paved and mostly coastal, flat with occasional short climbs over volcanic ridges; optional side trips to temples, beaches or viewpoints may use hard-packed coral sand or smaller local roads. Daily distances 8-36 miles (12-59 km) across 6 riding days.

Weather:
Warm and tropical with intense sun, tempered by shade, ocean breezes and early starts. Season runs March to November.
