An 8-day cycling tour through Central Dalmatia
Zadar is said to be 3,000 years old and is surrounded by historical ramparts and archaeological and monumental riches of ancient and medieval times. The city was first settled in the 4th century B.C. by the Illyrian tribe of Liburnians — the name Jader was mentioned — and through history it has changed into Idassa (Greek source), Jadera (Roman source), Diadora, Zara (during Venetian rule and later Italian), until finally today’s name of Zadar.
This bike tour takes place in Central Dalmatia — an absolutely stunning part of the world — will take you through charming towns and beautiful islands. You will experience the historic city of Zadar with its picturesquely situated old town, and tour through the islands of Pašman, Ugljan, Molat and Dugi Otok, visiting towns that include two UNESCO World Heritage sites, so named for their impeccable preservation, historic value and stunning beauty. Each evening you will make your way back to our private boat, and begin the journey to the next stunning vista. This new addition to our Croatia tours has the least challenging rides of the five itineraries we offer here and is designed for all levels of cyclists.
