From the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps to the wild landscape of the West Coast, this popular ride provides a unique, first-hand perspective of the diverse and spectacular scenery of New Zealand’s South Island.
The route travels in a southern direction through the middle of the South Island crossing two passes, Burkes and Lindis Pass, via the Canterbury Plans and the barren Mackenzie Country and into the more arid central Otago area. From Queenstown and up over the Crown Range and the Haast Pass to the West Coast and back over Arthurs Pass to Christchurch.
