Appreciate the artistic treasures of the cities of Verona, Vicenza, Padua and Venice and the Venetian Villas along the way. Art, History and Landscapes: the itinerary follows important waterways, such as the Adige, the Bacchiglione and the Brenta, surrounded by a countryside modeled by man with large crops of corn, vines and vegetables, which you discover by pedaling on cycle paths and secondary roads. With the great satisfaction to reach the unique Venice!

You’ll mostly ride on secondary roads with little local car traffic; but as well on some bike paths and a few traits of roads open to car traffic. The road surface is mostly paved. The tour is mostly flat; but on the second bike day you’ll have some up and downs.

The tour crosses two regions, Lombardy and Veneto, and explores some of their best natural destinations, towns and villages. The itinerary is made of three loop rides in the areas around Bergamo, Lake Iseo and Lake Garda. You’ll visit the charming city of Bergamo, perched on a hill, and Val Brembana, an alpine valley crossed by safe bike path, then you’ll explore Lake Iseo and Valcamonica valley. Next you’ll get to Lake Garda, passing by Franciacorta wine area, and finally to the charming city of Verona.

You’ll mostly ride on secondary roads, but some traits will be on bike paths. The road surface is fully paved.

EUROVELO 7 runs from North Cape to Malta. You cycle along it from Verona to Bologna to visit extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage cities (Verona, Mantua, Bologna) and have the opportunity to slowly discover often little-known areas: the countryside of the Po Valley, reshaped by human hands, with its artistic and gastronomic heritage.

Starting from Verona, you will discover the Valpolicella area, then head South towards Mantua. You will then encounter the Po and Secchia rivers, before taking the cycle path on the old disused railway line that will take you safely from Mirandola to Osteria Nuova. You will discover small authentic villages such as Mirandola and San Felice sul Panaro, before reaching Bologna, the city of a thousand porticoes, soaring towers, ancient university and delicious cuisine.

Most of the route runs along cycle paths. The first stage in Valpolicella is the only one that is slightly hilly. The road surface is mainly asphalt, with short stretches of dirt road.

From Bolzano to Verona, the safest and greenest bike path of the country.

The Ciclopista del Sole, the Sun Route (which in its full length goes from Brennero to Firenze) is already a classic: almost all flat with majestic mountains all around, safe and well signposted, with excellent bike cafes along the path and nice cities where to stop by. The path initially goes through a peculiar area of Italy: a region where the language, the history of the places, the typical recipes have a lot to do with the German tradition. Once you leave the mountains behind, no German language nor knödeln any more, but pasta and Valpolicella! Enjoy this easy itinerary and discover the nice cities of Bolzano, Trento, Rovereto and Verona, by bike.
