The mountain range of the Dolomites, listed as UNESCO World Heritage, includes some of the most spectacular and well known peaks in the whole world. Resounding names like the Three Peaks of Lavaredo, the Pale di San Martino and the Marmolada have written mountaineering history. Even if throughout the Dolomites one comes across several luxurious ski resorts, also small characteristic villages can still be found. A fairyland where lush meadows nestle against towering limestone peaks, of all different colours. With beautiful small lakes, and wooden houses in the valleys. Small family run hotels and comfortable ÔøΩrifugiÔøΩ (mountain huts) welcome grateful cyclists with delectable cuisine, the ubiquitous grappa and steaming cappuccino. Drink in this dramatic limestone setting as you make your way through the different parts of this beautiful mountain range. Because there is not one ÔøΩDolomitesÔøΩ, on this special tour we show you the different ranges, and the different cultures: Italian, Tyrolean and ÔøΩLadinoÔøΩ. Meanwhile, closer to the Adriatic Coast the Veneto region also offers wide plains and famous art cities, first of all the amazing Venice, but also smaller towns such as Treviso and Bassano del Grappa.

This tour brings you along the varied coast of the Upper Adriatic Sea. You'll cycle through the Italian Veneto and Friuli regions, between Venice and Trieste, along the Slovenian sea shore near Koper and Piran, and along the Croatian coastline onto the stunning peninsula of Istria, through very diverse landscapes, which offer some of the nicest views of the whole area. While around Venice long sandy beaches and low lying lagoons are interspersed with lush cultivated fields, near Duino and Trieste high vertical lime stone cliffs plunge down to the Mediterranean. In Slovenia and Croatia, ample coastal plains make way for rolling hills looking out over the sea. All the while little sea side villages and tourist resorts as well as large busy port cities are spread out along the coast.

Umbria is one of Italy's smallest, and the only of its peninsular regions that is landlocked.
Still with its combination of natural and cultural attractions, ranging from the splendid medieval city of Assisi with the world famous church of St. Francis and the 'art city' of Perugia, to the rolling hills covered by vine yards and olive groves, and the steep mountain tops of the Appenine mountain range, it more than merits a thorough visit by the conscious traveller looking for a taste of the real Italy, far away from the bustling crowds of popular seaside resorts and large noisy towns.

a divine mix of Nature & Culture
The Sorrentine peninsula, situated between the equally beautiful Bay of Naples and Gulf of Salerno, is an area of staggering natural beauty and scattered with cultural treasures. Best known for its medieval coastal towns and inland villages such as Amalfi, Positano and Ravello and the resort town Sorrento, it is also home to several hidden marvels. Small hidden natural reserves, ancient paper mills and wild mountain scenery are only a small distance away from the busy touristy centres, waiting to be explored by the aware traveller. The best of the coastal scenery is on the southern side of the peninsula, the Amalfi Coast. With its towering cliffs and picturesque coves this definitely is one of the most beautiful coastlines in Europe, with a long tradition as one of the premier tourist destinations in Italy. Cycling along the ÔøΩCostiera AmalfitanaÔøΩ is an unforgettable experience !

The regions of Amalfi and the Cilento have been known as a paradise on earth from ancient times on. The Greeks built some of their most impressive temples here and under the Romans they formed part of 'Campania Felix' or the Happy Land. When travelling here, one easily becomes overwhelmed by the well known cultural and natural attractions of the famous Costiera Amalfitana with its towering cliffs and picturesque coves. However also the Cilento region south of Salerno, now one of Italy's biggest National Parks where the coastline bulges out into an expanse of mountainous landmass, is well worth a visit.
