The best option for people who want to see, learn, experience and discover much of the present Thailand and its people, culture, traditions, religion and history. Anyone with an average condition can ride this relaxing and very varied bicycle tour while enjoying the beautiful surroundings south of Chiang Mai.
After a short safety briefing we start the bike tour from your hotel or another place in the city that we agreed upon. You will notice that the traffic isn't that bad at this time of the day and we will be out of the city in no time. We follow the Ping River downstream to the south. The banks of the river look beautifully green all year round. First we visit a beautiful and remarkable Chinese temple. On our next stop, a former leper colony, we seem to be back in the beginning of the last century. Today, the institute is a rehabilitation center where its residents can enjoy the quiet and leafy setting. We cycle further south and we are treated with a wide variety of impressions of the real Thailand. Through narrow roads we cycle to Ban Tawai, a village that mainly Thai tourists visit because of its wood carvings. You'll get plenty of time to stroll the area. Around noon, we have lunch in a local restaurant. Then we cycle along country roads through rice fields and small villages to Chiang Mai. Before entering Chiang Mai we explore the ruins of Wiang Kum Kam, a city that already flourished in the late 13th century.
