Chiang Rai Bicycle Tour

After a short safety briefing and personalized bicycle fitting, we begin our cycling from the hotel through small villages and rice fields and then follow the Lao River downstream. The bicycle ride is pleasant with much greenery due to the proximity of the river. While you are cycling you will discover the real rural Thailand and see the local lifestyle on the outskirts of Chiang Rai. We will cycle past various fruit orchards, rice fields, rubber plantations, and see many teak trees. We will stop and visit the amazing white temple (Wat Rong Khun) and then have lunch in a local restaurant near the temple.

In the afternoon we will visit the Mae Fah Luang Art and Cultural Park*. It is the region's largest center and displays a huge collection of art items of Lanna culture or Tai culture. Then we will continue cycling through the gently rolling hills with scenic views along the Mae Kok River. The overnight stop is at a beautiful guesthouse nestled on the banks of Mae Kok River (fan room).

Day 2 Elephant Care and Waterfall ...

After a short safety briefing and personalized bicycle fitting, we will start cycling by weaving our way through small side streets of Chiang Rai. The bicycle ride is pleasant with much greenery due to the proximity of Maekok  river. While you are cycling through this beautiful countryside you will discover the real rural Thailand and see the local lifestyle on the outskirts of Chiang Rai.  Along the way we will visit the Chinese Buddhist Temple, where you can see many young Chinese monks in their unique dress and the largest “Happy Buddha” in Thailand. After visit the temple we will cycle past various fruit orchards, rice fields and rubber plantations. We will have lunch at a local restaurant on the way to Chiang Saen the ancient city.  The overnight stop is at a resort with a swimming pool that is located inside the ancient city.

In the afternoon we will go by car to the Golden Triangle area and spend time visiting the many sights. It is the location where the three countries of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar come together along the Mekong River. We will visit House of Opium (Opium museum) and learn about the history of opium trade that led to the area being called the Golden Triangle. We will take boat around the Mekong River to see beautiful view around Golden Triangle area. We can stop for dinner on the way back to the hotel. ** If there is not enough time we will do this activityin the next day**...

A covered pick up truck will transfer you to the starting point, outside Chiang Rai city. it takes about 15 minutes. After a short safety briefing and personalized bicycle fitting, we begin our cycling through villages and rice fields and then follow the Lao River upstream. The bicycle ride is pleasant with much greenery due to the proximity of the river. While you are cycling you will discover the real rural Thailand and see local lifestyle on the outskirts of Chiang Rai. We will cycle past various fruit orchards, rice fields, rubber plantations and teak trees. The cycling tour will be finished Wat Rong Khun car park. After that we will visit Wat Rong Khun (White temple) and then have lunch at a local restaurant near the temple. After lunch our covered pick up truck will transfer you back to your hotel (1.00 - 2.00 pm).

In the afternoon we continue cycling to see more local lifestyle, rice fields and various fruit orchards. We finish cycling at Namtok Khun Kon Forest Park where you will enjoy walking through bamboo forest and rain forest to Khun Kon waterfall, the highest and most scenic waterfall in Chiang Rai, 70 metres high (20 minutes nature walk to the waterfall). After relaxing at the waterfall our covered pick up truck will transfer you back to the hotel (05.30 - 06.30 pm).

While you are cycling you will discover the real rural Thailand and see the local lifestyle on the outskirts of Chiang Rai. We will cycle pass various fruit orchards, rice fields, rubber plantations, pineapple plantations and many teak trees. We will stop cycle and then take nature walk to Huay Mae Sai waterfall.

After relaxing at waterfall we will continue cycling to a local restaurant to have lunch. In the afternoon, we will cycle through the most beautiful part of the trip (dirt track and cycling up to the highest mountain of the trip, 700 m. long, 10% climb up) to Elephant camp. After enjoy feeding Elephant we will continue cycling through the gently rolling hills with scenic views along the Mae Kok River and then crose hanging bridge to the other side of the river. Then cycle up and down some steep hill to hot spring. After relaxing at hot spring you can take a car back to hotel or continue cycling another 18 km to Chiang Rai beach and finished the tour there.

The tour finish about 04.30 - 05.30 p.m.

In the afternoon we will go to elephant camp by car. Set elephant free from riding seat and get to know elephant such as elephant name, how old is it, mahout name, etc. Bathing elephant, feed and walk with elephant. After enjoy take care elephant already we will take long-tail boat back to Chiang Rai. Our covered pick-up truck will wait for you at the pier and transfer you back to your hotel. The tour finishes about 4.30 - 5.30 pm.

Where you will see many ancient sites around the city including Wat Phra That Chedi Luang, city wall and city moat. After that we will leave the ancient city by back road to Golden Triangle area where the three countries of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar come together. On the way you will experience real local lifestyle and countryside that the other tourist has never seen. We will visit House of Opium (Opium museum) and learn about the history of opium trade that led to the area being called the Golden Triangle. After that we will continue cycling through some small gently rolling hills of the countryside and pass many of rice fiends, cassava and pineapple plantations. We will have a nice lunch at the local restaurant on the way. We will stop and visit The Biggest bamboo woven Buddha image in the world. After that we will continue cycle along the countryside where you can see a beautiful mountain rage that separates Thailand and Myanmar.

Cycling tour will be finished at Maesai; the Northern most point in Thailand. After that we will spend time looking at all of the goods imported from Myanmar and China (including jade and other gemstones). Those interested in purchasing goods will enjoy the opportunity to bargain with the local merchants. If the time allows, we will walk up Naga staircase to the Scorpion Mountain temple to see a beautiful view of Thai and Myanmar border town. After enjoy looking around border town already our covered pick up truck will transfer you back to your hotel.
