Palau Ubin Cycling Excursion
Singapore
4 hours
Supported
Spend a day discovering Singapore's not-so far off history as a rustic fishing village with a journey to Pulau Ubin Island. Sail by traditional bumboat and wind along quiet roads by bicycle to discover Tudor-style homes, restored Malay villages and the Chek Jawa Wetlands along the way.
Go back in time with a journey to Singapore’s rustic Pulau Ubin Island, a perfect example of the city’s history and cultural diversity. Begin with a short journey to the nearby ferry terminal. Here, board a wooden bumboat bound for the island of Pulau Ubin, and wave goodbye to the hustle and bustle of central Singapore.
On arrival at the quaint island’s port, swap your boat for a bicycle seat for the beginning of your cycling adventure! Pedal through island scenery and architecture reminiscent of 1960s Singapore and traditional Malay villages, called kampung. Pass through beautiful fauna and flora before cycling past the island’s best known attraction along the way, the Chek Jawa Wetlands. Keep an eye out for House No. 1, a Tudor-style cottage with the only remaining fireplace in Singapore, before heading into the island’s centre to a waiting seafood lunch. Afterwards, hop back on your bumboat and chug back to the mainland.
