Évora & surroundings: an open air museum

We will be riding through the area of the oldest human habitation on the Iberian Peninsula, and signs are everywhere. On the way to the Dolmen we will pass by Menhir before the Cromlech, all Megalithic Monuments, 3000 to 5000 years old!

The landscape is composed of the typical Montado Alentejano and will allow you to see Évora from afar. Reaching Evora’s cobblestoned, walled, historical center, we will pause at the main square of Praça do Giraldo, where every street converges. Once in Évora, we can ride or sightsee or both.

The city of Évora has a rich, beautifully-preserved heritage. It has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, since 1986. Not far from the city itself, the plains of Évora also have plenty to offer in terms of heritage and culture — and nature too, of course! It’s a place of rare tranquility and harmony.
