Spain meets Portugal: A luxurious wine bike tour
A luxurious wine bike tour with spectacular views. Many wine regions lie along a famous river but the Duero in Spain and Douro in Portugal is the most spectacular of them all! The landscape is beautiful and dramatic. The vines grow on striking slopes that you could never imagine being cultivated. Cycle and be an expert on wines at the same time.In Roman times, the river was personified as a god, Durius. Now, it is personified as the god of the wines. The remarkable Duero river in Spain, or Douro river in Portugal, offers shelter to some of world's greatest wine regions: Ribera del Duero, Rueda and Toro in Spain and Port wine in Portugal. From Madrid, we head north towards one of the largest wine producing areas in the world, Ribera Del Duero, where we are surrounded by stunning medieval towns and large sunny valleys. Later on we bike through the wine area of Toro and Rueda, entering further into the isolated, wildlife refuge of the Natural Park of Arribes del Duero. From there we pedal along the stunning Dam of La Almendra, one of the largest in Europe.Once in Portugal the landscape gets wilder and more small towns begin to appear as the river grows to gigantic proportions. Wineries, lonely roads and excellent food are the landmarks of our friendly neighbors. In the valley of Coa, we visit one of the largest collections of Paleolithic Cave Art in Europe. Following our stay in the charming town of Peso de Regua we continue our journey along the Duoro to finish in the charmingly beautiful city of Porto. What a great way to end our wine journey!

This special bike tour will allow you to discover the Empordà, one of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world.
Thanks to the Mediterranean climate and the soil, the footsteps of the mountains surrounding the plane are a perfect terrain to produce the grapes. The ancient farmers in the area decided to use the plains for planting olive trees and the slopes for planting vines on terraces separated by dry-stone walls.
Since 2005 influential wine guru Robert Parker put Empordà on the world wine-producing map. Thanks of the hard work of the wineries this area has been certified as a Origin Designation of Empordà. You are invited to visit 2 of the best wine cellars!
It's an easy tour for regular cyclist that combines half of the tour on quite secondary roads, and half on nice and clean unpaved roads. Stages are 40km average without big climbs. The tour includes two guided visits to cellars with a wine tasting at the end.

Experience the best of Madrid and its surroundings by bike at your own pace!
Open your mind for an outstanding expedition just beyond the boundaries of Madrid's urban sprawl. On this bicycle tour you'll find nature and culture, all at your fingertips. Visit the region's most important sights on your own.
Most visitors to Madrid spend all of their time within the limits of the Metro's Circular Line - a shame when you consider that, not even an hour out of the city, one of the most important natural areas in central Spain stretches out.
Love the outdoors but still want a good dose of culture and history on a cycling tour? This trip combines the peaceful landscapes of the South of Madrid with its extending fields of olives trees, the amazing natural environment of the Sierra de Guadarrama and some of the area's most important monuments - the Aranjuez Palace, the really authentic medieval central place of Chinchon, the monasteries of El Escorial and Rascafría, the castle of Manzanares el Real and the medieval town of Buitrago de Lozoya, with its city walls and Picasso Museum. Combined with Madrid's sunny spring, summer weather and unbeatable fall colors, this is a perfect introduction to attractions and charms that lie just outside Madrid's city limits
Enjoy the memorable Spanish food, appreciate the culture and history of Spain, visit some of the best paintings museums, see wonderful palaces and historic buildings and ride by beautiful roads in a sunny place with a bright blue sky all year around.

A beautiful ride along the coasts in northern Spain.
A beautiful ride along the coasts of Cantabria and Asturias in northern Spain. Lush green countryside contrasts with blue seas, unspoilt beaches, picturesque villages and flower-bedecked houses to a backdrop of steep mountains. Ever wondered why this part of Spain is so much greener than the rest? Part of the explanation is given by its extraordinary and extreme landscape (and related to that - its climate): the spectacular coastline to the north and the mountains that are almost touching the sea to the south. Describing this part of Spain is almost as if it were an advertisement for Ireland or Wales with its rolling hills, craggy hills, cider-drinking and bagpipes! Cycling along the coast on the north of Spain, you'll be surprised by the endless variety alternating between sheer cliffs, tiny coves, small fishing villages and resort towns and sandy beaches.

Follow the paths of the Caliphs on this stunning bike tour from Cordoba to Granada
This bicycle tour takes you through some of Andalusia’s most stunning regions, following the route favored by the Arab Caliphates during the 11th and 12th centuries.
Given its location at the western end of the Mediterranean, it’s not surprising that so many cultures – Moorish, Visigothic, Roman and Greek – have crossed paths in the southernmost part of Spain. This bike tour in Andalusia follows the paths of the Caliphs – the chief civil and religious ruler of the Muslim faith, regarded as the successors of Muhammad – and of Washington Irving, most famous as the creator of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, but who stayed in the Alhambra Palace while serving as the American ambassador to Spain in the 1840s.
Our bicycling routes include an old rail track perfectly adapted for pedaling on smaller country roads and paths. We stay in outstanding accommodation: four-star hotels in the bigger cities and smaller hotels with their own special charm in a few picturesque Andalusian villages. You will encounter olive groves, wineries, flamenco, Arab baths, white towns decked out with heaps of geraniums, castles and so much more!
This is a perfect cycling route to experience traditional Andalusian cuisine with excellent wines. We use our Bike Spain minibus for half of the journey to arrive at the starting points of each one of our stages. We’ll ride the most interesting parts of our journey and each day’s stages may be lengthened or shortened depending on the group’s cycling abilities.
