Dealu Mare Wine Tour

One Day Wine Route by Bike is a guided day trip combining food, wine, learning and gentle riding in Dealu Mare, one of Romania's best red wine regions. Set in the vine-covered Carpathian foothills of Wallachia, within easy reach of Bucharest, the area's sunny slopes produce some of the country's finest reds. Bike in Time work with reliable local winemakers who are always happy to open their cellars and share the stories behind their wines.

The day begins in Urlați at the Bellu Manor Museum, a charming bohemian estate, where you'll look around before getting set up on your bikes. From there you ride through the vineyards to the village of Ceptura for a guided winery visit with tastings, cheese and snacks, before returning to Urlați along the same route in the afternoon. A support vehicle follows the group with water, fruit and energy bars.

The ride is tailored to the group's fitness, from an easy 10 km on asphalt to a more challenging 30 km mixing paved roads and off-road tracks, so it suits everyone from children to experienced cyclists. English and French speaking guides lead the way, and road or hybrid bikes are provided, or you can bring your own.
