Ashtar Tours is a tour operator and destination management company (DMC) based in Amman, Jordan, established in 1989. Over more than three decades they have built a broad programme of travel experiences across Jordan, with additional itineraries in the Holy Land and Saudi Arabia. Their range spans more than 20 tour styles, from adventure, hiking and canyoning to culture, luxury, food, religious and accessible travel, and they handle planning, accommodation, visas, transport and guiding in-house. They are licensed through the Jordan Society of Tourism and Travel Agents (JATTOC) and describe their mission around sustainable tourism: reducing carbon emissions, minimising waste and engaging local communities.
Cycling is one of their core adventure lines. Their fully guided tours cover routes for all levels, from easy paved rides through Madaba's villages and the Jordan Valley to demanding off-road trails between Shobak, Dana and Little Petra, and desert riding in Wadi Rum. Tours run with expert local guides, support vehicles, safety equipment and high-quality branded bikes, with all-inclusive packages covering accommodation, meals and transfers. Cycling Through Jordan is an eight-day guided journey blending history, culture and desert landscapes, starting and finishing in Amman. Riders begin with a stay in Madaba before cycling from Mount Nebo through traditional villages to Mukawir Castle, then continue south to Shobak Castle for a ride to Little Petra.
A full day is spent exploring Petra on foot, taking in the Treasury, the Siq, the Royal Tombs and the climb to the Monastery. The route resumes with a ride through the Bedouin Abbaseyya Desert to Wadi Rum, followed by an easy desert ride and a dip in the Dead Sea. The tour closes with a day exploring Amman's Citadel and Roman Theatre before departure.
