An 11-day multi-activity journey through Bali, blending cycling, hiking, snorkelling, kayaking, culture and wellness.
Bali Explorer combines nature, culture and self-care across 11 days, from the wilds of West Bali National Park to snorkelling near Menjangan Island. Riders cycle through the lush rice terraces of Sidemen, relax on the beaches of Sanur, and enjoy Balinese massage and spa treatments along the way.
The trip includes hands-on conservation work, restoring coral reefs in Candidasa and planting mangroves, alongside visits to vibrant markets, sacred temples and the ancient Elephant Cave (Goa Gajah). A pre-sunrise hike up Mount Batur is offered as an optional highlight.
Free time is built in for journalling, sketching or simply relaxing, with the itinerary balancing activity days with rest. This is a women-only trip run by Wild Women Expeditions, guided throughout by a local female guide.
Highlights:
- Cycle through the rice terraces of Sidemen and villages of Belimbing
- Snorkel near Menjangan Island and explore West Bali National Park
- Optional pre-sunrise hike up Mount Batur volcano
- Coral reef restoration and mangrove planting in Candidasa
- Balinese dance lessons, yoga with panoramic views, and a traditional massage
- Visit sacred temples, local markets and the Elephant Cave (Goa Gajah)
Surface and terrain:
Terrain varies by activity rather than being cycling-focused. The single cycling day covers up to two hours on rolling, possibly uneven terrain through village streets and pathways, with breaks. The hardest walking day is roughly 4 km (2.5 miles) or four hours on a rocky, volcanic path, with a steep two-hour ascent and two-hour descent (Mount Batur, optional and pre-dawn). Other days involve swimming, snorkelling and time on a motorboat. No distance or elevation figures are given for the cycling leg specifically.
Weather:
Tropical conditions with high humidity, typically 20–30°C (68–86°F). A hat and sunscreen are recommended.
Suitable for:
Women travelling solo or in groups, rated "Easy–Moderate," with 3–5 hours of daily activity. Suits those wanting a mixed activity trip (cycling, hiking, water activities, culture) rather than dedicated cyclists, and who are comfortable with uneven terrain, humidity and time in/on the water. Trips can be scaled to different ability levels; contact the operator with any physical or medical concerns.
