Wetlands Cycle

Wild Hong Kong's Wetlands Cycle explores Hong Kong's northern frontier on a relaxed, half-day guided ride. Setting out from Sheung Shui MTR station, the route follows dedicated cycle paths through the rural fringes of the New Territories, where the water is never far away and the scenery stays calm and open.

The ride builds towards sweeping views across extensive wetlands to the Shenzhen skyline just over the border, a striking contrast between Hong Kong's quieter natural landscapes and the mainland's high-rise city. Nature lovers can look out for the area's unique birdlife and other wildlife along the way.

Flat terrain and a flexible itinerary make this an ideal outing for beginners, families and children. Bikes, helmets and an experienced guide are included, and the pace allows ample time to stop and explore. Tours usually run from 10am to around 2pm, with lower prices for larger groups.

Subtropical. Autumn is best: dry, sunny and clear, ideal for long views. Winter is mild and cool, spring humid and often misty, and summer (May to September) hot, humid and wet with typhoon risk. Rideable in most conditions.
