A 7-day ride from Prague to Dresden along the Vltava and Elbe rivers, through wine country, sandstone gorges and historic riverside towns.

This route starts in Prague, one of Europe's most beautiful cities, before following the Vltava and Elbe rivers to Dresden. Day two reaches Mělník, where the castle overlooks the confluence of the two rivers. Short, easy daily stages leave plenty of time to rest along the way.

Riding continues to Roudnice and on through Terezín to Litoměřice, then follows the wide Elbe as it winds through the sandstone peaks of Saxon Switzerland. The route passes bizarre rock formations and small historic riverside towns on both banks, including Hřensko on the Czech side and the German spa town of Bad Schandau, with unforgettable views over the valley and Königstein Fortress.

The final stages pass Pillnitz Castle on the Saxon Wine Route before arriving in Dresden, known as the "Florence on the Elbe" for its immense cultural heritage and impressively restored architecture.

  • Pass through Terezín en route to Litoměřice
