Chill Pedal

Chill Pedal is a fully guided coastal tour along Portugal's breathtaking Alentejo and southwest Vicentina coast, where rugged cliffs rise above clear Atlantic waters. It crosses four protected areas, from the calm wetlands of the Sado Estuary and Santo André Lagoon to the dramatic Southwest Alentejo and Vicentina Coast Natural Park, staying in some of the region's finest hotels.

The tour starts in a 5-star boutique hotel in the Arrábida Natural Park, then takes the ferry across the Sado to the Tróia Peninsula and on to a 5-star resort in Comporta. From there it explores cork forests, Santiago do Cacém and the Melides lagoons, before heading south along spectacular clifftops to Odeceixe, Aljezur and Carrapateira.

Follow quiet backroads to hidden beaches and fishing villages, with outstanding seafood, acclaimed wines and gourmet picnics by the sea. A guide and support van accompany every ride.

Surface and terrain
Quiet secondary roads with some dirt roads and tracks, often with asphalt alternatives. Mostly flat to gently rolling along the coast, but day 2 through Arrábida is hilly with four longer climbs (565 m). One short descent on day 6 where some may prefer to walk.

Weather
Mild Atlantic climate, with sea breezes keeping coastal summers warm rather than hot. Spring and autumn are ideal for riding and still warm enough to swim. Winters are mild and wetter.

Suitable for
Leisure riders comfortable with 35 to 55 km days who want a fully supported, luxurious coastal holiday. Suits couples and small groups who love beaches, seafood and nature. E-bikes are available.
