Starting in the Mediterranean Sea the route continues through the famous Penedès, the cava and wine area.
Next is the famous climb to Montserrat which will be hard for anyone to forget. From Montserrat you will ride back to Barcelona after a long riding weekend.
The history of Sant Sadurní took a decisive turn in the XIX Century. The region has an agricultural activity strongly oriented towards viticulture since 1872 when the first bottles of cava were produced. At the beginning of the century the production of cava was consolidated as an industry and since then has become essential for the local economy with well known cava companies like Freixent, Codorniu or Juve y Camps.
Montserrat. The geological origins of the massif are sedimentary. The rocks of Montserrat, formed by pebbles bound together by a natural cement of sand and clay, are very hard and resistant to erosion. Nevertheless, the wind and rain have, over time, shaped the mountain to form “needles” or monolithic rocks with strange and varied forms.
The sanctuary of the Virgin Mary of Montserrat has its historical origins in the year 888. In 1025, Oliba, abbot of Ripoll and bishop of Vic, founded a new monastery at the hermitage of Santa Maria de Montserrat. The little monastery soon began to receive pilgrims and visitors who contributed to the spread of stories of miracles and wonders performed by the Virgin.

Additional
In TBT we have special care and sensitivity with gay and lesbian groups, since we want them to feel comfortable expressing everything they may need. We have received specific requests to organize one-day tours, getaways or multi-day trips for LGBT groups. The tour in general is the same as the one we can organize for a hetero group, but we pay attention to the small details that will make this group feel more comfortable and better treated in their vacations. We are usually asked for good accommodations.
