Tailwind Tours
It's Not All About The Bike
Kerry and Donnamaree Cosgrove have been in the bicycle retail business for over 25 years and have operated Tailwind Tours for the past 12 years. Originally conducting short day and weekend rides in South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales, this quickly expanded to include interstate tours to iconic rides like Around The Bay and the Cadel Evans Classic.
At the insistence of satisfied clients, longer tours followed and destinations like the Yarra, Hunter and Barossa Valleys, Daylesford and Spa Country, Byron Bay, Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and the Darling Downs were added. It was probably inevitable then that they were asked to organise a European Tour and so the Velo Euro Tours were born.
Unlike most bicycle holidays, Tailwind Tours does very little point to point cycling, thus eliminating the daily grind of packing up daily. Instead, Tailwind sources the best possible accommodation in the best possible locations with daily rides out and back on most days. On occasion you will be Coached from your accommodation to the start of some of the iconic rides like Alpes Dhuez, Croix de Fer, Galibier and Madeline.
Tailwind Tours limit the amount of participants to a maximum of 16 riders on each tour and all rides are led by experienced Team Captains and are fully van supported providing safety, assurance and comfort for the riders.
Company operators Kerry and Donnamaree actually take part in all Tailwind Tours with Kerry providing all management and back up support while Donnamaree is on the bike with Tour guests and provides no end of local knowledge including best shops, restaurants, coffee haunts, patisseries, wineries and spas.
