You will ride twelve alpine passes including col du Galibier, col du Télégraphe, and col d'Izoard. These mountains are regularly used in the Tour de France and will test your limits. Along the way you will ride hors category cols and gems such as the 'Shoelaces' of Montvernier.

Test your Limits in the French Alps
Starting in the Mont Blanc region you will ride south for six days, until you reach Nice, on the Mediterranean Sea. Six days, 550kms riding the alpine passes the pros face every year offers a challenge like no other. Riding in the French Alps will test your abilities as a rider.

Supported Tour de France Style
We use support cars carrying spare parts, drinking water, and food. Martin, will also be riding with you passing on coaching advice and knowledge. Martin is a professional cycle coach with years of experience. He ensures you will reach each stage of Geneva to Nice under your own steam. He and his team are on hand should a repair be needed. We want to keep you on the road as much as possible.

Logistics - From airport transfers to moving your luggage from hotel to hotel, we have you covered on Geneva to Nice We've got you covered. We have good relationships with the hotels and some provide washing facilities for your kit. Every hotel provides secure bike storage. Our logistic mastery stretches to providing you with porridge in the morning.

Conquer the Cols of the Tour de France. You will climb the mountains that test the professional riders in the Tour de France. Can you ride col du Glandon, Télégraphe, Galibier, and Alpe d'Huez in one day? This is the toughest alpine sportive in Europe.

Without question this sportive will test you. During the ride you will climb 5000m+ and have ridden the big four mountains of the French Alps. This sportive will test your limits.

As you climb high into the mountains you will face the challenge of high altitude riding as the air thins! This and hors category cols in a sportive setting makes Marmotte Alps that little bit special.

The atmosphere and camaraderie of riding in the Marmotte peloton has to be experienced. As you ride you will come to rely on the peloton as you scale your first col. By the time you descend the last one you will share a mutual respect for every rider that has taken part. You will experience the big event feel, similar to riders who compete in the Tour de France!

As well as riding the cols of the Tour de France, we support you like you were a pro rider in the great race. We use three back-up cars and back-up riders, so should you need fresh water, or a puncture fixed, we are here to ensure you stay on the road and finish the sportive. Support is given Tour de France style! We are an official tour operator of Marmotte Alps.

With Marmotte Granfondo Alps sportive being delayed to September due to Covid-19, we have developed a brilliant alpine cycling holiday based at the mythic Alpe d’Huez. You always wanted to ride the mythic 21 hairpins of Alpe d’Huez and now you can. In this holiday take on the 21 hairpins three times! (…if your legs stay with you). The holiday features Tour de France cols, spectacular scenery and intense climbing challenges. This is a cycling holiday you’ve dreamed about.

The French Alps is the perfect place to test your limits and put your cycling through its paces. Whether you are riding the hairpins of Alpe d’Huez, climbing to the top of Le Tour legend Galibier or descending like a pro into Bourg-d'Oisans, your cycling will be tested like you were a pro rider. You’ll love it!

Alpe D’Huez. The legendaryTour de France col is waiting for you to take on the 21 hairpins and reach the top. On this tour you can climb it three times (but you don't have to!). This will be part of longer rides that show you a lot of the French Alps region.

SportActive operates a professional organisation and you will be supported throughout your adventure. Our head cycling coach, Martin, will lead the peloton as you ascend and descend the mountains and valleys. All logistics will be arranged so all you have to do is embrace the French Alps!

Ventoux Fights you, Mocks you…

Ventoux is not just a Hors Category climb. This col has its own microclimate. It may have been warm and sunny when you started, but the last 6 kms could be rain, wind, and fog! Or vice versa. That last 6 kms is also rocky and barren. You could be forgiven for feeling you were riding on the moon! If you’re having a good day, that last six kms is a spur to conquer ‘The Beast of Provence’. If you’re having a bad day, you will feel the mountain is mocking you, playing tricks! And, it probably is!

The Mallorca 312 (or M312) is Europe's longest amateur sportive and one of the most popular. 8500 riders take on the challenge and ride one of it's 3 routes which start and finish in Playa de Muro/Puerto Alcùdia . This is just 5 kms flat ride from the SportActive Cycle Centre.

If you never rode the M312, this is your chance to do it in steps: get a taste of it riding a shorter distance, 167 km or 225 km in October 2021, and aim for the long distance of 312 km in April 2022.
