Sheffield Cycle Tours
Steve founded Sheffield Cycle Tours, and will be your tour guide.
*Nearly 20 years ago I moved to Sheffield and I fell in love with the city. It feels great to share the history and culture of Sheffield on this tour. As well as talking about history, I'm also keen to show other cyclists the car free and flat routes in this otherwise hilly city! *
Sheffield was recently voted the 2nd best city break in Europe, according to TimeOut magazine. Once famed for industry, Sheffield remains a city of innovation. The smoke stacks are gone and a modern city has risen in its place; full of greenery, modern architecture and vibrancy.

Home of the first women's suffrage organisation in the UK
In 1851 the Sheffield Women’s Political Association was formed not far from Sheffield Cathedral. This was the first women's suffrage organisation in the UK and the birth of the movement. It started with a sternly worded letter to the House of Lords; escalated to riots and postbox bombings and finally ended nearly 80 years later with women earning full voting rights.
This history tour focusses the events that took place in Sheffield and how it helped the national movement to improve women's rights.
Ride a mixture of cycle lanes and quiet roads. No main roads or riding along tram tracks. There are a handful of hill sections between stops but these are very short and could be walked if needed.
