Cycling the Waterford Greenway is on the top of everyone’s wish list. Don’t leave Waterford without giving it a go.
Waterford Greenway is arguably the most scenic off-road cycling experience in Ireland. Linking Waterford city and the vibrant harbour town of Dungarvan, the Greenway is based on a section of the former Waterford, Dungarvan & Lismore railway, established by the Duke of Devonshire.
Over a leisurely three and a half hours we’ll introduce you to that blackguard Oliver Cromwell, the late Ambrose Congreve, who turned his family’s estate into the world renowned Mount Congreve Gardens, and those Vikings, who never missed an opportunity to drop in unannounced, pocket your heirlooms and outstay their welcome.
You may even get a chance to pit your cycling prowess against the might of the Waterford and Suir Valley narrow gauge railway.
