An ‘off road’ adventure in a yet to be discovered part of Ireland’s Ancient East
Travel back in time along the river Barrow towpath which was designed to bring horse drawn barges along the river to and from the ports of New Ross and Waterford.
Starting at the ancient High Cross at St Mullins, you will cycle up-river past the remains of a Norman encampment to the town of Graiguenamanagh and its magnificently restored Duiske Abbey.
On your journey you will feel completely at one with nature, listening to birdsong, the gentle gurgling of the river Barrow, the breeze rustling the leaves of the trees on the riverbank and the occasional cry of a fox on Mount Brandon.
