Ride Holidays
Specialist in Providing Bike Tours and Holidays on 2 Wheels
Ride Holidays cycle tours are achievable for anyone who rides a road bike, not just the serious cyclist. Generally - there are three rides to choose from - the less challenging 'cappuccino' (60km), 'latte' (80km) and the espresso - for those keen on 100km or more.
_We encourage non-riding partners (Team Macchiato) to join us. To ensure they enjoy themselves equally, we tailor events and activities throughout the tour for them. They won't just be sitting in the back of a van watching cyclists.
Our guides are ego free. Our rides are not races. But neither is it a baguette and basket type tour either. You will be challenged which is why we provide a 10 week training program for each trip. The hotels we use are picked for location and are generally 4 star. It's important to us that you eat and drink well. It's more than just a bike tour. We use a combination of local and Australasian staff._

Te Anau, Milford Sound & Queenstown
The best of the best. 5 fantastic days in arguably New Zealand's most beautiful region. A true combination of paved and gravel roads. It's not all just about the bike. We’re lucky enough to have our own private launch waiting for us on Milford Sound. Wow.
The absolute cycling highlight will be the sportive from Milford Sound to Te Anau. The Milford Mountain Classic. You'll join hundreds of lycra clad friends for a once in a lifetime opportunity to ride this very special (but hilly) road as it journeys through the UNESCO Fiordland National Park.
You also ride the absolutely stunning 'Around the Mountain' bike trail which takes us 90km on gravel roads through the beautiful Mavora Lake region (mountain bikes are included in the cost) all the way to Walter Peak Station where a BBQ is waiting for us. We then catch the evening Earnslaw to Queenstown.
Ride Holidays will take the hassle out of this short holiday. We've included pretty much everything. Transfers, guides, mechanics, meals and of course the standard RH friendliness.

Via the Crown Range, Haast, Franz & Fox, Hokitika Gorge, Arthurs Pass & the Buller Gorge
New Zealand's West Coast is without doubt spectacular.
Normal Ride Holidays conditions apply. Fully supported. Choice of 3 rides most days - cappuccino 50km, latte 70-80km and espresso - 100km plus. Staying in great hotels and including as many meals as possible.
Team Mac (non-riders). Please be aware that on this particular trip we do need a minimum number of 5 to have a separate program like we do on the March trip. You are of course very welcome to join us however at this stage we are only aware of cyclists booked.
There will be many highlights. Earlier this year we rode Haast Pass and it's as good as any European ride you'll ever do. On this trip we combine that with Arthurs Pass and many other unforgettable days.
It's not all about the bike - we eat and drink at the best restaurants, wineries, and cafes. How many Whitebait fritters can you eat??
A note about bikes. This is suitable for road bikes, cross bikes and e-bikes. 99% of the trip will either be on the road or grade 1 trail. Those who want to ride the West Coast Wilderness Trail will have the option to hire mountain bikes.
This could quite possibly be the only time we have this amazing scenery to ourselves. Let's make the most of it.

New Zealand's West Coast is without doubt spectacular.
Normal Ride Holidays conditions apply. Fully supported for both cyclists and Team Mac (non-riders). Choice of 3 rides most days - cappuccino 50km, latte 70-80km and espresso - 100km plus. Staying in great hotels and including as many meals as possible.
This trip has been designed around riding from hotel to hotel however some of the distances are challenging so we'll certainly have many plan B's on offer.
There will be many highlights. Earlier this year we rode Haast Pass and it's as good as any European ride you'll ever do. On this trip we combine that with Arthurs Pass and many other unforgettable days. Concluding with the one and only - Crown Range.
It's not all about the bike. We've factored in free time in Franz Josef and a spare day in Haast. More importantly - we eat and drink at the best restaurants, wineries and cafes. How many Whitebait fritters can you eat??

Enjoy a hassle-free holiday
We’ve found the perfect balance for those who like to ride bikes and for those who would rather visit markets, art galleries, cafes, restaurants & wineries.
Your one job is to enjoy a hassle-free holiday. We’ll take care of everything else.
Ride Holidays cycling tours are achievable for anyone who rides a road bike as we offer multiple distances each day. Simply ride as far as you want. Think of the best day you’ve ever had on a bike and times that by 10!
Our trip starts in Melbourne before driving north for 5 nights, up to the Victoria Highlands – Arguably the best place to ride a bike in the whole of Australia. Here you can challenge yourself and ride all 5 iconic High-Country summits. Mt Buller, Buffalo, Hotham, Falls Creek & Tawonga Gap.
This tour, like all other Ride Holidays adventures, will provide a dedicated non-riders program with your own vehicle and guide. (Katrina Mills) Team Mac highlights include the Italian cooking class at the Pizzini Winery located along the famous Prosecco Road as well as the High-Country Maze gardens.
Our last 3 nights are spent on the Great Ocean Road in Torquay, where riders join 3500 friends cycling the Great Ocean and Otway Classic. It’s one of the best Fondo’s in the country and we can’t wait. There are 3 distances to choose from. 60, 145 and 204km.
Our journey finishes back in Melbourne. One of the world’s best cities and well worth an extra couple of days. Drinking coffee, wandering… maybe even a show or 2.

It's then back down the West coast Kauri cycleway, eventually ending back in Whangarei.

Tour Operator Ride Holidays
Join us for a 15 Day Cycling Tour Exploring the Canadian Rockies Finishing with the awesome Vancouver to Whistler Gran Fondo
Ride Holidays invites you to join us on this amazing cycle tour and holiday. Experience the beauty of the Canadian Rockies; a part of the world that was simply designed for a bicycle. Our tour will then meander in and out of the Canadian Rockies. Stopping at Lake Louise, Banff and of course Jasper National Park. The cycling is epic however we also prioritise wildlife, Canadian culture and of course great restaurants. A perfect mix of cycling, relaxing and sightseeing.
We use three small vehicles in Canada. We can cater for all abilities, for example - we can easily drop cappuccino riders up the road so that they don't need to try and keep up with the espresso cyclists. We will always have a vehicle at the front, as well as at the back. The 3rd vehicle which will accommodate Team Macchiato. (non-riders) Also, for Canada we can offer e-bikes which takes the pressure off.
Despite the word Rockies - this tour isn't overly hilly. It's not like Italy or France. The roads tend to snake through the valleys as opposed to heading over a mountain col. Those that want to be challenged certainly will. Those who want an exercised based holiday will get exactly that. It's the perfect holiday - for everyone.
Our last ride is the epic Vancouver - Whistler Gran fondo. It really is a fantastic way to finish. And by that stage you will certainly be fit. Whistler is also a pretty good place to relax for a few days.
Highlights:
GranFondo Canada - Vancouver to Whistler
Jasper and Banff national parks
Ride 230km along the Icefields Parkway

Gravel, Kiwis and Fresh Snapper
On our inaugural Coro mini-break we visit areas of the peninsula which can only be described as remote. Perfectly remote!! Paradise even.
The actual distances aren't massive. However, the vertical metres certainly are a challenge. We are also very aware that come early November most of us won't be at our fittest. What a great way to ride into shape.
The majority of the roads are gravel, a bit of track and about 20% paved roads. It's not for a road bike so you'll need either a cross, gravel, mountain or e-bike.
Like all RH tours we will have a lot of flexibility and equally import - unlimited support. You can literally turn up on this 7day trip and all you need to think about is riding, sleeping, eating and the odd coffee or wine. We will do everything else.
Team Mac are very welcome but on this tour you would need to accompany the support vehicles. We won't have a separate program. We would search out a nice walk for you every day.. Our 3 accommodation locations are perfect for long walks, reading books on the beach and wildlife spotting.
