A spectacular biking challenge over more than 500 Scottish miles

redspokes Scotland 500 cycling holiday from Ardrossan to Sutherland, is a spectacular biking challenge over more than 500 Scottish miles, crossing islands, following the Great Glen and the Caledonia Way to Inverness then riding on across the Black Isle cycling rugged terrain to the remote highlands.

The Scotland 500 holiday begins with a Hebridean Island hop, through outstanding natural surroundings which give inspiration to the whisky islands for their varied flavours and character.  We follow the east coast of the Mull of Kintyre riding alongside sea lochs to Fort William and up the Great Glen and Caledonian Canal. A spectacular start to our cycllng holiday as you enjoy traditional Scottish hospitality whilst taking in outstanding natural beauty, historic castles, ancient Celtic history and the wonders of Scottish engineering working in harmony with nature.

From Inverness we cross the Black Isle to Bonar Bridge, cycling on minor roads and track across craggy countryside. We head to west coast Achultibuie riding through a landscape which becomes more spectacular with every locomotion of the wheel. North West Scotland is one of the last great scenic cycling secrets in Europe; a vast wilderness of extraordinary mountains set in ancient rock and moorland. Narrow roads wind through beautiful heather clad hills, high sea cliffs and waterfalls and traditional life continues in crofting and fishing villages. You will marvel at the sheer magnificence of the Atlantic scenery. redspokes' Scottish 500 cycling holiday continues to the small fishing port of Lochinver. Passing white sands at Scourie bay we find ourselves in a lunar landscape of lochs and mountains heading for Cape Wrath. Our cycling itinerary ends at Lairg. We board the train back to Inverness arriving at around 12.30 with plenty of time to catch an afternoon train or flight to London/Glasgow.
