The redspokes South American cycling holiday is a high adrenalin, high altitude cycling adventure and a unique way to discover Peru and Bolivia, two of South America's most magnificent and diverse countries.
Peru is a fascinating land of mysterious cities and imposing ruins, named the land of the Incas after the founders of Peruvian civilisation; the greatest empire in South America. Their legacy is some of the world's most important archaeological sites. Mountain biking through Peru offers unforgettable scenery, an abundance of exotic wildlife and an insight into a rural way of life which has changed little in centuries. Peru also has a well preserved cultural heritage; two thirds of the population are of indigenous descent.
Bolivia characterises everything that is enigmatic and exotic about South America. It is the continent's highest, most isolated and most rugged country, stretching from the high-altitude deserts of the Andes to the lush rainforests of the Amazon basin. Bolivia's lack of outside influence has allowed vast areas of wilderness to survive in near-pristine condition.
The redspokes Peru and Bolivia cycling tour encompasses some of the best mountain biking in South America. Our awe-inspiring adventure begins in Cusco, we visit legendary Machu Picchu, and the Lost City of the Incas; one of the world's most fascinating and important archaeological finds. From the Inca heart land we ride across the Sacred Valley, cycling through a dramatic Andean scenery of snow-capped peaks, yellow grasslands, high Altiplano and icy mountain streams to Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Our cycle route then continues along the exhilarating and infamous "Road of Death", one of the most beautiful roads on Earth, taking us to Bolivia's capital La Paz, a fitting end to a memorable cycling journey.
