Qhapaq Ñan is the trail network connecting the whole territory of the Inka empire, which is also called Tawantinsuyu, traverses the Andes from northern Argentina up to southern Colombia.

In Perú, the heart of the Inka empire, are the longest and main sections of the Qhapaq Ñan that run across following regions in the Peruvian highlands, from south to north: Puno, Cusco, Apurimac, Ayacucho, Huancavelica, Junín Pasco, Huanuco, Ancash, La Libertad, Cajamarca and Piura, and transversal side trails connecting the high sierra with the coastal lowlands.

This route is new, never explored for cycle touring.  We have done a long term and extensive research and gathering of info and data and tracked the trail on the maps and satellite images, at present we are in condition and ready to go to explore this breathtaking ancient trail network.

Qhapac Ñan can be travelled in sections of variable length to suit the expeditioners’ available time through regions of superb scenic beauty and great interest

Let's travel to the most interesting destinations in the country and new routes offering experiences to be discovered. The journey starts visiting colonial Lima the capital city of the country, following visit the Ballestas Islands and traversing on bikes the southern Peruvian coastal desert in the Paracas National Wildlife Reserve; in Nazca the archaeological sites of the civilization that made the Nazca Lines; go along on the new Los Libertadores Road to the high Andes; enjoy a nice relaxation time in Chalhuanca surrounded by peaceful and spectacular Andean scenery; go biking by ancient trails on the old route used by the Inkas heading to Cusco; follow the inka road along the Sacred Valley of the Inkas; ride the best downhills on the America's by inka trails from Lares to Calca, visit ancient Ollantaytambo village before reaching the Wonder Of The World: Machu Picchu, travel to visit the Uros Floating Islands and Taquile and finally rest and live two days in a rural community lodge on the shores of Lake Titikaka.

Morning trip Lima - Paracas on private car.
Accomodation in a local standard class hotel.
Afternoon, Paracas National Reserve bike tour, visiting La Catedral rocky formation.

Day 2.
Morning boat tour to Islas Balestas.
Afternoon tour to Tambo Colorado archeological site.
Return trip to Lima

The road condition is varied including sections through singletracks and carrying the bike. At Socsi the rural road meets the paved road leading to Lunahuaná.  The cycling journey ends in the swimming pool at the hotel. Relaxing evening at the town.

Next morning visit the town and surroundings. A good option is to adventure in a very exciting white water river rafting.  Another option is to visit the impressive archaeological site of Incahuasi.  In the afternoon return to Ca√±ete and on to Lima.

In this easy bike ride the city reveals the truth of its occupation since the early pre-hispanic times, passing through the spanish colonial domination and republican times to present days.

On bikes along the ancient stone paved streets to discover the secret spots, admire the varied architectural styles: inka, colonial and republican and to visit many interesting places: the rivers traversing the city underground, panoramic view points, handcrafts market, the twelve cornered stone, the seven snakes street, the legendary departure gates to the four suyus, the inka trails heading to the northern, southern, eastern and western regions of the domains of the Inka empire, San Blas neighborhood, San Pedro local market, Huacaypata (plaza de armas), etc.

Note. In Cusco city centre cars traffic is intense making necessary to walk in some streets, we go on bikes to move from one point to other of the city included in the itinerary, some biking skills and tolerance will be needed. Cusco city is not flat, the route includes some uphills and downhills
