Ride through Northland's most remarkable landscapes on an e-bike tour, exploring ancient kauri, quiet backroads, the west coast, the Kaihu Valley Trail and the Kaipara Harbour.
This guided five-day e-bike tour passes some of Northland's great natural landmarks, from Waipoua Forest's ancient kauri to the volcanic peaks of Maungaraho and Tokatoka. The route uses quiet backroads, old highways, harbour edges, river valleys and parts of the new Kaihu Valley Trail.
Starting from Paihia, the group crosses to Waipoua to visit Tāne Mahuta, then rides through the forest to Donnellys Crossing and Trounson Kauri Park, before two nights at Kai Iwi Lakes. The journey continues to the remote Kaipara Harbour and finishes in the Bay of Islands.
The last day crosses the Mangakahia farmland to the Parakao Store, then visits the historic Ruapekapeka Pā battlefield before a transfer back to Paihia.

- The minibus carries coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice, water and snacks. If you need a break you can always hop back in the van and put your bike on the trailer.
