Taste the fine wine and food of the famed Stellenbosch Winelands
Cycle amongst the historic vineyards of the Stellenbosch wine region, under sunny skies, whilst stopping en route to sip some of the world renowned wines on our bicycle wine tour. Stellenbosch, founded in 1679 and so named after it’s founder Simon van der Stel, then Govenor of the Cape, has a rich and diverse history, set between the rugged mountains, this fertile valley produces some world renowned wines. The Stellenbosch region has been producing top quality wines for more than 300 years. Views of Table Mountain in the distance make way for beautiful planted vineyards with whitewashed manor houses. Other attractions are the amazing bird life such as South Africa’s National bird, the Blue Crane. We may be lucky and spot Zebra, Springbok and Bontebok en route. The cycling is off road and produces a great feeling of being in the Cape countryside, laid back, warm and friendly. Cycling in this region is possible all year round and has the most ideal weather.
After the tour we finish with an amazing gourmet lunch while relaxing under the cool oak trees of a wine estate. Stellenbosch is not only known for it’s wine but for it’s fine food, outdoor lifestyle and cycling. Join us, and sample the best of the Cape wine, food and lifestyle.
