The Pyrenees (Spanish: Pirineos, French: Pyrénées, Catalan: Pirineus)... This spectacular mountain range forms a a natural border between Spain and France, with the microstate of Andorra appearing a little more than halfway as you make your way from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. The Pyrenees cover close to 500 km in total starting from the Bay of Biscay on the Atlantic Ocean to the Cap de Creus on the Mediterranean. Landing in Venice, discover the romantic 'floating city' before meeting us in Treviso, the home of Pinarello. Losing ourselves in the hills of Montello & Asolo, surrounded by Prosecco vineyards, you meet your final challenge - Monte Grappa.
Flying into Venice, we allow you 48 hours to recover from jetlag and to warm yourself to Italian food and culture. Its then off to Treviso to visit the Bottega di Pinarello concept store, next to the Pinarello factory and get your Pinarello bike fitted. You will soon learn why this is a cycling mecca with numerous spectacular rides spanning from the Piave river to the sweet hills of Montello, as hundreds of cyclists can be seen on their daily ride. Making our way slightly north-east you will notice the incidence of the Glera grape vineyards increasing, as we discover the quaint villages surrounding Asolo and Valdobbiadene. This is the home of Prosecco, where this sparkling delight began way back in Roman times. During your (numerous) wine tasting sessions, you will learn about Prosecco's naming system and categorisation (changing future visits to the wine store forever). Beyond us you will be aware of the 'larger' hills that play a backdrop during this entire tour - yes that is the Monte Grappa, neighboured by Monte Tomba and Monte Cesen.
