Just 100 km south of Barcelona lies one of Spain’s premier cycling destinations—la Costa Daurada. This region is a cyclist’s dream, offering the perfect blend of breathtaking coastal scenery and quiet, well-maintained roads that wind through fields, vineyards, and charming villages.

As you arrive, you’ll fall in love with the stunning beaches that line the coast, inviting you to relax after a day of cycling. From flat stretches to challenging climbs, the area caters to all levels, with routes ranging from gentle gradients to winding ascents in the nearby mountains, where peaks reach approximately 1000 meters. The mild gradients (3-7%) make the climbs enjoyable yet rewarding.

Explore the beauty of the Priorat wine region, where rolling roads take you through fruit orchards and serene landscapes. Along the way, you’ll encounter villages steeped in history—from Roman ruins to the birthplace of Antoni Gaudí. Even in the height of summer’s tourist season, we’ll plan our adventures during the quieter months, October through May, when the weather is perfect for cycling and the roads are yours to enjoy.

Your base for the trip is the renowned Mediterranean Sports Hub in Cambrils—one of Europe’s top-rated sports resorts. This luxurious complex caters to hosting professional and amateur cycling teams with top-notch amenities, ensuring comfort and convenience.

For triathletes, the village offers the option to rent 25- or 50-meter pools and access open-water swimming just steps from your door.

It is magnificent and challenging. Challenge iconic climbs known from the Tour de France, such as Col de Braus, Col d'Eze, Col de Colmiane or pedal along the coast to Italy.

We offer a variety of pre-designed tours but am happy to customize an experience based on your preferences. Dates, times, and starting points are arranged directly with you, with all departures from the Nice region in Alpes-Maritimes, France.

5 km outside of Nice you find the former fishing village Villefranche-sur-Mer.  Villefranche-sur-Mer attracts people from all over the world to visit the picturesque streets, the beautiful bay and wide sand beaches. Framing the bay you find Cap-Ferrat.

We meet in central Nice from where we start by going via the Promenade des Anglais. We pass the harbour and climb the ocean road in an easy pace. It starts with a 2 km uphill to Mont-Boron, but we go in an easy pace. You will be rewarded with a magnificent view in Mont Boron of the bays towards Nice and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat!

When we reach Villefranche, we stop in the old town for you to walk around and perhaps buy a snack or coffee. We can visit the old habour and the magnificent beach front.

From Villefranche, we climb to the main road again to go 2 km further on the road from Nice to make a round-trip at Cap-Ferrat.

The cap is known for glamourous villas, e.g. Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. We make stops to enjoy beautiful sceneries of the views to Nice, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Eze. As we reach the lighthouse , we get off the bikes to discover the scenic rocks surronding it.

At this point of the trip, you make feel like making a stop in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat for a drink, before we make our way back to Nice.

Just 100 km South of Barcelona, you find one of the best areas for cycling in Spain!

As soon as you come to la Costa Daurada, you fall in love with staying next to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, while you can jump on the bike and ride 1000s of kilometers through fields of fruit trees and up winding roads and wine fieldsof the Prioriat in the nearby lower - medium high mountains where the highest peaks are at around 1000 m. Professional road bike teams come for training camps here for a reason!

The roads are quiet and in good condition. You can stay on the more flat, cycle for hours in to the mountains or cycle a combination of both. The mountains start after around 20 km cycling on the flat from Cabrils and the climbs offer mild-medium gradients (3-7%).

You can visit villages and towns with their distinct local history and charm. ​The Romans were here, Gaudi was born here - in summertime a lot of tourists are here. ​ We will visit out of the main tourist season when the climate is friendly to cyclists, who love to go rolling the wheels in the sun for a few hours.

We stay in the Mediterranean Sport Village in Cambrils, which offers private apartments of high quality and all sorts of facilities that you like to indulge in when on an active get-away.

Non-cycling human companions are welcome to join, there are options for them to do some other sports e.g. tennis, use the fitness/pool/recreational facilities in the Mediterranean Sport Village or just chill
