Ride one of Italy's most popular cycling event on the beautiful closed roads of Emila Romagna. With a peloton of 12,000 riders, the flat sections fly by leaving you just the nine climbs to think about.
A challenge for the weekend, the Granfondo Nove Colli, is Italy's most popular granfondo, and it's not difficult to see why.
Started in 1970 by a group of friends, the race now attracts over 12,000 riders from all over Italy and beyond. In 2020 the race will be celebrating it's 50th birthday so there is sure to be a big festival atmosphere, even bigger than normal! Don't miss this opportunity to take place in one of the best granfondo's on such a special occoasion.
Starting from Cesenatico, the route heads into the hills that mark the Marche / Emilia Romagna border. The hills come thick and fast and although the highest point - Monte Pugliano - at 791m is no alp, the constant undulations are sure to take their toll by the finish. With 200km to cover and total climbing of 3840m, the Nove Colli is a guaranteed tough workout. There's also a shorter option of 130km with 1871 total climbing for those looking or something slightly less taxing.

La Marmotte is for anybody who has ever watched the Tour de France conquer the Alps and thought: "I'd like to do that."
Over thirty years have passed since La Marmotte's organisers settled upon the 174.4kms of road that they felt summed up the very essence of bike racing in the mountains, and few of the thousands of hopefuls that descend upon the little town of Bourg d'Oisans to try their luck each July can have ever disagreed with that judgement. If you long for jagged snow-capped mountains against a sky so blue you can feel it; if you think that your body is ready for 17,000 feet of vertical ascent; if you want to take your place amongst the greats, then La Marmotte is for you.

Discover the heart of the Dolomites and ride its most spectacular event of the summer, the Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel.
The Dolomites lay a claim to being the most beautiful mountains in Europe that the Alps and Pyrenees find hard to refute. The golden rock faces, hewn into bizarre and beautiful contours, strike skywards from lush valleys and dark forests, whilst the many passes in the area are some of the most brilliantly designed mountain roads in the world, using incredibly consistent gradients to conquer the forbidding terrain. The Maratona is renowned for its fantastic yet unfussy organisation, a perfect blend of relaxed and generous Italian hospitality with the efficiency of the strong German influence in the Sudtirol region. The Maratona’s editions have seen it grow into an internationally renowned event that visitors return to year after year.
Even though there are three different route choices at the Maratona, each of them can call themselves epic with some justification. Even the 55km Sellaronda course clambers over four high passes, whilst the full Maratona distance takes you over no fewer than seven Dolomitian legends. La Fuga’s base in Corvara itself places us at the heart of affairs. This small, relaxed mountain town, towered over by the iconic Sassongher peak, is noticeably more affable than its too-cool-for-school neighbour, Cortina. We’re lucky enough at La Fuga to travel far and wide, but we can promise you few cuisines anywhere as delicious as the Tyrolean cooking… you’ll enjoy it all the more after topping the beautiful passes this region has to offer.
Our intimate knowledge of the area enables those on our Dolomites Escape and Maratona Tour to experience even more of the Dolomites, as our guides will lead you over some famous passes beyond the Maratona route, such as the Marmolada and the Duran. We’ll be there for you on race day to ensure your ride is as memorable as your stay. Our accommodation caters specially for cyclists and its exclusive wellness centre will allow you to relax in luxury before the big event.
