A 6-day ride from Kilimanjaro to the Ngorongoro Crater, crossing Tanzania's northern safari circuit by bike.
This tour rides Tanzania's northern circuit from the base of Mount Kilimanjaro to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest unbroken caldera. From Moshi, riders cross the arid western plains of Kilimanjaro through Maasai land, then continue via Arusha to the wildlife corridors of Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks.
The route mixes tarmac and dirt roads through open plains, villages and migratory wildlife corridors, with elephants, Maasai settlements and Rift Valley views along the way. The final day's climb up the Great Rift Valley escarpment to Ngorongoro is rated the toughest of the tour.
Overnights are a mix of tented camps and lodges, including Olpopongi Maasai Village, Tembo Club and Roika Tented Lodge, supported throughout by guides, a bike mechanic, driver and cook.
