Heartland Japan Cycle Tour

This journey of 1000 kms travels from Japan’s past-Imperial capital, Kyoto, home of the Geisha, north to the Japan Sea, through rustic fishing villages, to savor the freshest and tastiest sashimi and crab in the world, around one of Japan’s most beautiful peninsulas , and then back south, through more UNESCO, World- Heritage-listed sights, Edo-period outposts and ancient mountain hamlets lost in time, to finish at Japan’s oldest remaining samurai castle, in Matsumoto.

The ride will average around 90 kms per day with some challenging climbs, fully supported by a bus following the group, allowing participants a break – if they need it.

Visits to heritage sites, sacred shrines and temples as well as folk museums and other points of interest known often only to the locals, sets this ride apart from others.
