In 1998 the founder of the company, Klaus Schenk, had the bright idea of combining a ships cruise with a cycling tour. Little did he know how many people he would inspire with his idea.

The Cyclades, an archipelago comprised of more than 30 islands, is the cradle of the first European civilised society 5,000 years ago. It is also here that Greece shows its most unadulterated side in all its diversity: Gleaming white cubic houses with blue shutters and labyrinth lanes give the typical architectonic flavour to the island towns. The mostly ragged coastlines show impressive geological formations, turquoise-blue sea and fantastic sand beaches. Experience the fascinating mixture between antiquity and modern times on board your motorized sailing ship or in the saddle of your bike and imbibe the beauty of the central archipelago of the Greek Aegean.

There is a good reason why this tour is subtitled "vacationing among friends", because Yvonne Richner-Škiljic and her husband Jure have for some time now been good friends and partners of Islandhopping. We got to know both of them as enthusiastic tour guides on our boat and bike tours in Croatia. Having a small family of their own now, they no longer work on our ships but remain closely connected to us. In the meantime, they have established themselves independently in tourism by renting out apartments and organizing various travel programmes. Their declared goal: To make their guests familiar with their home country in an authentic and sympathetic way.The guided MTB-week is the ideal extension for our Island Hopping tours in Croatia: Starting point for the daily excursions are Yvonne's and Jure's modern furnished apartments in Pakoštane consisting of spacious rooms measuring ca. 40 sqm, private bathrooms and a small kitchen and located only 100 meters from the sea. There is a shady parking lot for your car.Starting here, a tour guide takes you on your MTB to the most beautiful sites in Dalmatia. Pakoštane, your destination, is attractively located between Lake Vrana and the Adriatic Sea. Aside from the interesting town of Zadar, there are four national parks and two nature parks located in the vicinity.

This tour is part of our newly developed individual tours programme and an ideal supplement to our boat and bike tours. Alone, in couples or in a group of your choice, you can go for one week on a tour traveling between selected hotels. Your luggage is transported for you, and you yourself bicycle at your own speed, following especially prepared instructions and supported by a GPS device. The tour presented here is probably not what first comes to mind when you think of this multifaceted and interesting country. We take you to the mid-range and high mountain regions of the Croatian hinterland. Only 20 km away from the more or less developed tourist areas of the coast, you enter a rough region of deep forests and stone deserts, where the Bora wind has had a strong impact and where the snow is meters deep in winter.En route, you bicycle through two national parks, where bear, wulf and lynx can still be encountered in the wild. The variety and beauty of nature will constantly surprise you, and the fabulous vistas across the Croatian islands will stay with you for a long time. The highpoint of the tour are the Plitvicer Lakes and their spectacular waterfalls, which are known far beyond Croatia's borders.

Join us on a fascinating journey through time and culture! This Islandhopping special tour combines the Greek mainland with the impressive islands of the Ionian Sea. For one week, travelling by bicycle and on the two-masted motor sailer, Panagiota, we experience first-hand the cultural and scenic diversity of Greece. Famous sites such as Delphi, where the ancient Greeks once consulted the oracle, or Aegina, where the white temple of Aphaia gleams high above the sea or the Asklepieion of Epidauros, with it's well preserved ancient theatre; these are just some of the highlights of the tour. The passage through the Corinth Canal, an artificial seaway connecting the Gulf of Corinth with the Aegean, will surely become an unforgettable memory. In the archipelago of the Ionian Islands, you see Greece at its greenest. An unspoiled landscape and centuries of Venetian influence characterize this still fairly unknown group of islands. The crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea glittering in all shades of blue, the mountainous landscape of Cephalonia and the bird-sanctuary island of Lefkas, the small island of Paxos densely covered in olive groves, as well as the beautiful Old Town of Corfu - all guarantee a wonderfully relaxing vacation.
