Kurdistan province is located in the west of Iran bordering Iraq.
The highest mountain which is located in the southeast of Saghez is called Chehel Cheshmeh with a height of 3173 meters above the sea level. The route considered in this program has a moderate to high degree of difficulty for cycling due to crossing mountainous areas. Due to the high altitude difference between the depths of the valleys and the ridges of the mountains that may be traversed in one day, it is possible that we will experience very hot and cold temperatures within a few hours. Hamedan is believed to be among the oldest Iranian cities. It is possible that it was occupied by the Assyrians in 1100 BCE; the Ancient Greek historian, Herodotus, states that it was the capital of the Medes, around 700 BCE. Hamedan has a green mountainous area in the foothills of the 3,574-meter Alvand Mountain, in the midwest part of Iran. The city is 1,850 meters above sea level.
