To cycle on these zig-zag roads, you need to be a technically sound biker. You must preferably have prior experience of riding on rugged terrain and rough paved roads. Most sections of the road are asphalt surface. However, road conditions are unpredictable in this Himalayan region and could be under repair and not having an asphalt surface. Re-routing or itinerary changes can be made by the guide depending on the circumstances on ground.

In Rajasthan most of the roads are asphalt, however, in small villages, the roads are either broken or have been cobbled, thus making it difficult to use road bikes. There are stretches of busy roads as well, however, we provide 100% support vehicle to give you a lift if you would rather not ride on these sections. Towards the end of the tour you will gradually ride uphill as you reach Aravalli hills. You will experience Rajasthan countryside firsthand and encounter pink-turbaned men, women carrying fodder in colourful skirts and camel carts plying along the roads.

The capital city of Ladakh, Leh is a remote high-altitude town surrounded by barren mountains and distant snow-capped peaks, situated in a fertile valley at the foot of Namgyal Tsemo peak. It developed as a market for traders from across the North India belt; the Silk Road brought Buddhist travelers, and today the population remains predominantly Buddhist. It is an interesting town – colourful and vibrant with lively people.

Leh served as the royal capital of the Old Kingdom, and hence and town and its surroundings are full of stunning monasteries. In this short, 5-day cycling trip, ride to some of the major cultural attractions in and around the capital city of Leh.

Arrive in Chennai and then undertake a short train journey to the temple town of Madurai. Starting from Madurai, ride through the lush green plantations and countryside to Chettinadu, Dindigul, Palani, Pollachi, Coimbatore, Coonoor and Ooty (including the heritage toy train ride in Nilgiri Hills). From Ooty you will be driven to Mysore for a short city tour, following which you will be dropped at Bangalore airport.

The terrain on this tour will be quite diverse – cycling in culturally rich towns, in the periphery of wildlife reserves, mountains of Western Ghats, plantations and finally the Nigiri Hills of Ooty.
