Here's a challenge - a zero emission tour.
Is it possible? We think it is and we have designed an explorer tour in the alpine splendour of the Tyrolean region encompassing Austria and Italy. This means using trains and electric public transport to and from the airport; no vehicle transfers during the tour - you ride from hotel to hotel; and our support vehicle will be an electric car.
Ok we hear you, electricity is not zero emission - we get it and there is an option to ride to and from the airport or offset your flights and electricity use by buying credits.. This is a journey for Grand Tours Project too as we aim to create more tours that reduce or eliminate reliance on fossil fuel vehicles.
And why the Tyrolean region? Firstly, it is a stunningly beautiful region that offers both Austrian and Italian flavours, with biking routes through alpine passes, flower filled meadows, rivers and streams, plus quaint and clean alpine and valley villages. Not forgetting culinary and cultural stops along the way ...and let's not forget the music.
But also, because there is an extensive network of safe road and cycle paths supported by bike rental shops and charging stations for e-bikes and electric support vehicles.
