Challenge Trail in Cao Bang

In the twenty-first century, Vietnam has become a wonderful place to go on outdoor excursions. It is endowed with a plethora of natural resources, including lush and infinite national parks, charming little towns, nature reserves, colorful hill tribal people, different ecosystems and species, and eco-friendly homestay families. Our bicycle route stays away from Vietnam's renowned highways and sees very few visitors. With its breathtaking karstic rock formations, thatched roof stilted homes, and mountains tucked between limestone outcrops, the Vietnamese environment is truly breathtaking. The majority of Vietnam's hill tribes are concentrated in this area.

A unique and exceptional way to experience Vietnamese daily life, learn about the long-standing culture of colorful tribes, and conquer some amazing passes winding along hillsides, mountain slopes, and hidden in misty valleys is to participate in our 5-day Northern Vietnam Bicycle Challenge Trail.

Riding a bicycle through an unspoiled area gives you the chance to come across people from hill tribes, visit their regular markets to see how they live, and take warm photos of dogs, cats, chickens, buffalo, and cows, among other animals.

Starting in Hanoi, our Northern Vietnam Mountain Bike Challenge Trail will travel to Thai Nguyen Province. We begin our new cycling day from Thai Nguyen and ride along a picturesque road that winds through verdant countryside and a canopy forest before arriving at Ba Be Lake.

Ba Be Lake is well-known for its expansive freshwater lake spanning over 50 hectares and rising 145 meters above sea level. It was formed when three river tributaries came together following earthquakes that occurred tens of millions of years ago.

We will continue our bicycle journey through the National Park on unpaved roads to the small village of Bac Me. Actually, we ride our bikes along a rolling riverbank to the town of Bao Lac.

The days that follow will be the most incredible, difficult, and demanding of our journey as we ride across several steep passes and wind between foggy valleys and mountain slopes.
