From South Tyrol to the Adriatic
A wonderful bike tour starting from the Austrian border at Brenner Pass: you will cycle downhill through ancient villages, forts and green meadows of South Tyrol. Riding along the Adige River you will reach the Veneto region, with a stop at the palm-lined shores of lake Garda. Further on you will discover Verona, the town of Romeo & Juliet, with its impressive Roman arena, and then Vicenza, renowned for the classical Palladio architecture. Then you will reach the Euganean Hills and their renowned thermal district, the largest in Europe. Beautiful Padua, cradle of arts, will open the way to the Venetian lagoon, where the timeless fascination of Venice has lured passersby for centuries (and still does).
Terrain: 95% tarmac, 5% unpaved
The itinerary is mainly on one of the most beautiful cycle paths in Italy, the river Adige cycle route. Continuing from Lake Garda to Venice the itinerary is developed on secondary streets with low traffic.
Leisure cycling in mostly flat areas, with only a few short ups and downs. Little effort required, suitable for everyone.
