Formally a freighter, nowadays a sailing hotel vessel.
Originally, the Feniks was built in 1928 as a freight barge for the Dutch, Belgium and French inland waters. It is a strong vessel with many years of service and is known because of her beautiful form and speed.
In 1992, the Feniks was converted into a hotel passenger ship and put in service for various sailing holidays. Since then, she has undergone several refits to keep the ship up-to-date with all modern facilities.
"From architect to captain, from consultant to sailor and cook, your hosts Ivo and Marius welcome you aboard. We work with more enthusiastic people. There is Rick, our permanent chief cook, and Sven, our tireless sailor. We also work in the course of the season with people who are chosen carefully according to their professional qualities."

We call this new tour 'Into the heart of Burgundy' because we go as far to Dijon (the capital of Burgundy) as the French waterways allow.
After a three-day trip on and along the Seine-river, you'll arrive at the confluence in Montereau where the Yonne-river flows into the Seine-river. The Yonne-river is the gateway to Burgundy and leads along three beautiful medieval cities to Auxerre, the capital of southern Burgundy. Our cycling-program includes a visit to the medieval cities of Montereau, Sens and Joigny. After a day of rest in Auxerre, we follow the Canal de Bourgogne. You sail on and bike along the most mythical and romantic canal of France. The canal has a beautiful scenery of forests and meadows interspersed with castles and old villages. You will discover the canal with 59 locks as well as the countryside in this trip that starts in Auxerre and brings us to Dijon.

This tour starts in thriving Paris to the Loire river valley in central France.
It offers a combination of history, culture, nature, agreeable rides in a varied countryside, with now and then some extra physical exercise. The Loire river is hardly navigable, so in the past centuries canals were dug parallel to some of the rivers to connect natural waterways. It's a stunning experience to be on board while the ship is using the famous pont-canal (acqueduct) while leaving Briare.
Apart from being a historically very interesting part of France, this tour leads you along famous wine villages like Pouilly (of the Pouilly Fumé) and Sancerre. It's certainly worth visiting several wine houses and taste the differences between the worlds best white wines!
