Fat Tire Tours
All of our tours have been designed with our guest in mind.
In 1999 Founder David Mebane created Bullfrog Bike Tours with a goal of bridging the gap between English speaking travelers and Paris with a simple three hour bicycle tour. On the first day of tours in 1999, Bullfrog Bike Tours didn’t welcome a single guest, but that changed very quickly.
Fat Tire Tours is a company for travelers by locals. We offer a variety of fun, engaging and memorable tours for those who want to discover the best a city has to offer. Through familiar hospitality and superior customer service, we lead tours that define a traveler’s time in the city.
Today, with locations across Europe and the United States, the mission remains: to provide safe, fun, and unforgettable experiences through superior customer service that creates memories and smiles that last a lifetime.

Take a Day Trip to the Gardens & Palaces of Potsdam
Potsdam is Berlin’s most popular day-trip destination and for good reason. It’s a veritable playground for biking with many Prussian and Cold War sights tucked deep in parks and along quiet alleyways. Come prepared for an action-filled day!
We start by taking the train from our TV Tower shop for the 25+km journey to Potsdam, where our bikes are waiting for you. Once there, we will ride through the breathtaking city, left mostly untouched by the war to visit it's grand palaces, include the famous Sanssouci, and learn about palace intrigue as we cycle through its beautiful royal gardens. We will visit the dutch quarter of Potsdam & explore the Schloss Cecilienhof, home of the Potsdam Conference that cemented the division of Berlin, Germany and the world at the end of WWII.
Here are some of the many reasons why we think you’ll love our Gardens & Palaces of Potsdam Bike Tour:
Realizing that with its 20+ palaces, numerous parks and gardens, unique WWII and Cold War history, and distinct present-day flair, Potsdam is far more than the “Versailles of Berlin”, but rather earning of its UNESCO World Heritage status in many ways.
Appreciating the power, lifestyle, and grandeur of the Hohenzollern legacy through their various lavish gardens, parks, and palaces.
Understanding the impact the Potsdam Agreement (signed at Cecilienhof) had on Europe to close out World War II and foreshadowing an era of tension and distrust in the ensuing Cold War. Entry and audio guide into Cecilienhof Palace are included and we give you plenty of time to explore the interior!
Comparing the Potsdam of today - a vibrant university city filled with creative minds and energy - against the backdrop of life under communism behind the Iron Curtain.
At the end of our tour we will journey on the train back to our shop in Alexanderplatz.

Ride the Route! Tour de France Bike Tour
Get up early on the biggest cycling day of the year and join our Paris Bike Tour on the final day of the Tour de France (Sunday July 19)! Ride the nearly empty streets as our guides lead you along the famous cobblestone roads of the last leg of the 3-week trek. See the same sites as the professional riders as they speed around the middle of Paris, just a few hours after you!
We will begin at our office, 24 rue Edgar Faure, 75015, and head directly to the Champs Elysées where the bulk of this ride will take place. Getting an early start grants us access to streets that will be too busy to navigate later on when the event is in full swing. Allow our guides to navigate through the streets as the city is waking up, with hints of pastries and coffee beginning to linger in the air. We’ll make our way to the final stretch of the biggest and most celebrated cyclist event in history. Ride over the same cobblestones as the cycling world champions, and imagine yourself wearing the yellow jersey! Feel the excitement as crowds start to line the streets in anticipation of an 8-lap finalé just a few hours away. They will be cheering for you as you cruise up and down this beautiful avenue, flanked by French flags and a buzz in the air.
You’ll have an opportunity to ride portions of the Champs Elysées, including the usually hectic round-about circling the Arc de Triomphe. Stop for a quick glass of bubbly at the apex of the course, and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the Triumphal Way which connects much of the right bank of Paris into a stunningly symmetric landscape. Continue through the sleepy streets as the sun rises, and make your way back towards our office for our own grand finalé: coffee & croissants in front of the Eiffel Tower. Our staff will be there to be your personal photographers and capture this once-in-a-lifetime moment. We’re happy to provide you with a few optional itineraries for the rest of your day and clue you in about the best viewing spots for later in the evening.

Join us for one of the most incredible ways to see the city of Florence - by riding a bike through sunset and into the night. In summer, it's the coolest time of day (in more ways than one).
The Florence Night Bike Tour route is almost completely different than our Day Bike Tour. As darkness descends, we turn our focus to the intrigue and scandals involved in the mix of art, money, and power that built this beautiful city into the center of medieval trade and finance. You'll learn the hidden history behind the birthplace of the Renaissance.
Of course, no history of Florence would be complete without the famous Medici family. Our first stop is the first Medici Palace, the workplace of the young artists Michelangelo, Donatello, and Botticelli. Nicknamed the "Renaissance House", this is where it all began.
We'll take you to some off-the-beaten-path stops that bring secret corners of this city to life as well as more famous streets, like Via de’ Tornabuoni, a paradise of boutique fashion. From there we'll cross the river into the vibrant neighborhood of Santo Spirito (or Holy Spirit), where the restaurants overflow and diners eat and drink for hours.
Next, we'll head along the river past the famous Ponte Vecchio, through San Niccolò and the old city wall and then down to a beautiful river beach. Here we break out some local Tuscan wine, and sip it on the banks of the Arno while enjoying a truly unique view of Florence from the riverside.
At the end of the evening, we'll make our way back through the historical center, filled with new memories, sights, and the relaxed beauty that is the Renaissance City at night.
