All of our tours have been designed with our guest in mind.
In 1999 Founder David Mebane created Bullfrog Bike Tours with a goal of bridging the gap between English speaking travelers and Paris with a simple three hour bicycle tour. On the first day of tours in 1999, Bullfrog Bike Tours didn’t welcome a single guest, but that changed very quickly.
Fat Tire Tours is a company for travelers by locals. We offer a variety of fun, engaging and memorable tours for those who want to discover the best a city has to offer. Through familiar hospitality and superior customer service, we lead tours that define a traveler’s time in the city.
Today, with locations across Europe and the United States, the mission remains: to provide safe, fun, and unforgettable experiences through superior customer service that creates memories and smiles that last a lifetime.

Experience the Barcelona Night Bike Tour with a dinner stop for tapas
We'll meet in the middle of the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona, the oldest part of the city, at Plaça St Jaume. This beautiful square is the location of both the town hall and Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia).
We'll bike through the Gothic Quarter to the end of the famous Las Ramblas, where we'll find the Old Port of Barcelona. After telling you about its history from being built in the 1600's to the present day, we'll head over to another area of the old city of Barcelona, the Raval neighborhood. Once considered a rough part of town, it's now a cultural heart of the city.
Continuing on through the lively Eixample neighborhood, we'll find ourselves in Sant Antoni with its central daytime market and many bars and tapas restaurants. No evening in Barcelona is complete without tapas, so this is where we'll stop at a local tapas bar to sample some classic Spanish cuisine. (Food at the stop is not included, but you are welcome to get as much or little as you'd like).
Now that we've had our fill of tapas, it's time for the Magic Fountain show! This fountain was the centerpiece of the 1929 International Expo and continues to be the location of many important city events. We've timed it so that you will get to see the illuminated fountain show with music and mesmerizing lights. We'll enjoy some Cava (sparkling Spanish wine) together as we watch the Magic Fountain show at just the right time, reveling in the lights and sounds of Barcelona at night.
As we make our way back, you'll get to admire the illuminated old bullfighting ring and learn its new purpose since Catalonia banned bullfighting in 2010. You'll also marvel at Gaudí's famous Casa Batlló and its curvy lit up facade, looking almost other-worldly. This sits on La Manzana de la Discordia (the block of discord), a block of several modernist houses that seem to compete for the spotlight here at the epicenter of modernism.
We'll also see the beautiful Palau de la Música (Palace of Music), the towering Cathedral of Barcelona, and the square of Sant Felip Neri, all basking in that nighttime glow.
Our Barcelona Night Bike Tour makes for a perfect magical evening in Barcelona - You'll get a feel for the best parts of the city, eat tapas, sip Cava, see the Magic Fountain on display, and watch the city and its monuments light up the night.

Paris Night Bike Tour with Boat Cruise on the Seine
There is no better way to see the stunning city of Paris than on our famous Night Bike Tour. We'll lead you through the bustling iconic neighborhood of St. Germain de Près as it comes to life for the evening with its iconic buildings and bustling cafés and restaurants.
We'll dive into the heart of St. Germain, cutting through some adorable side streets that lead right up to the awe inspiring Notre Dame Cathedral. Next, we'll park the bikes on the tranquil Ile St. Louis bridge as we gaze upon the flying buttresses of Notre Dame. We'll of course stop on Ile St. Louis for Paris's most famous ice cream & sorbet, Berthillon, for a little ice cream break. Heading towards the sunset as it glows orange behind the buildings along the Seine River, we'll cross over the old wooden pedestrian bridge, Pont des Arts, for more jaw-dropping views (including the Eiffel Tower from afar).
One of the best parts of the ride is up next as we glide into the original courtyard of the Louvre palace. You'll notice that the noise level goes from the loud buzz of people and traffic to near silence within the serene centuries-old enclosed courtyard. We'll ride down through the relatively quiet palace grounds to the glass pyramids for a photo opt. Depending on the time of year, it can be just transitioning towards sunset or completely dark with the pyramids lit up and glowing, but it's always breathtaking. We're not done yet! Up next, we'll head past Place de la Concorde to board our boat for a relaxing hour-long Seine river cruise, where you'll get even more gorgeous views. Your guide will pop open some bottles of red wine, and we'll toast to an evening together in Paris. The views from the boat ride are something you'll always remember.
After our hour-long cruise with wine, we'll ride over the Seine and back towards our office, stopping just in front of the Eiffel Tower to appreciate its golden evening glow, and perhaps catch it just in time as it sparkles!
Riding a bike through Paris at night can be intimidating on your own, but we have safety in numbers with your expert guide leading the way. Our Night Bike Tour is a perfect way to see Paris at its absolute best and to enjoy many vantage points of beauty across the city as its monuments and bridges take on a whole new light. Being guided by bike, it's effortless and fun. This is an evening around the City of Light you won't soon forget.

Monet Gardens & Giverny Bike Tour
Join us on an unforgettable journey into the heart of French impressionism; Giverny! This tiny village located about 45 minutes northwest of Paris offers the perfect getaway from the hectic city streets. We’ll meet at our office (24 rue Edgar Faure, 75015) and take a private bus for the relaxing drive through the Normandy countryside. As you’re passing beautiful wheat and sunflower fields, your guide will begin to explain the history of impressionism and its founding father, Claude Monet.
Monet’s works have influenced artists for decades and you’ll have the opportunity to see his inspiration throughout the day. First stopping at the open-air market in Vernon, you’ll have some time to explore the various stalls and taste some local specialties. Your guide will point out the not-to-miss items and give you some basic French to then procure your very own picnic lunch!
Following the market, we’ll pick out our bikes and make our way across the Seine towards the Old Windmill, a beloved site by Monet that he captured in many of his paintings. During lunch, your guide will continue to provide you with information and anecdotes on Monet, impressionism, and the rise of it as a renowned art style in the late nineteenth century.
Equipped with the knowledge to appreciate it, you’ll cruise down a 5 kilometer/3 mile bike path to Monet’s homestead. Here, you’ll have free time to visit the brilliantly colored flowers lining every inch of the gardens’ pathways, the Japanese bridge and famous water lilies, and his house, left intact from when he last lived there. Imagine yourself strolling through one of his vibrant paintings as you stop to take in the hundreds of varieties of flowers growing along every pathway.
We encourage you to visit the town of Giverny after the gardens; you can see artists’ studios, quaint cafés, and the cemetery where Monet is buried. Towards the end of the afternoon, we’ll gather everyone together again and make our way back to Vernon, put the bikes away, and board the bus for a peaceful ride back to Paris.
If some members of your group are hesitant about biking, we also offer a walking tour of Monet’s gardens. You will be able to overlap with the walking group throughout several parts of your day including the market, lunch, and walking through Monet’s house and gardens. It’s a great way for groups of all abilities and ages to visit this beautiful destination together!
