The operators are Peter Macky and Yuri Opeshko who own a home in Berlin and a folly in the Dahme-Spreewald which is a former train station built for the Hohenzollern family in 1865, which they are restoring to its former glory.
Peter and Yuri are passionate about Germany and about Berlin, Potsdam and Dresden in particular. They enjoy taking their guests on cycling tours and sharing their enthusiasm with you. They have prepared comprehensive guides which accompany their tours, and on the website you will see some of this information, and read testimonials from their guests.

Guided 5 day, 6 night cycling trip from Berlin to Dresden.
Distances cycled daily are moderate. The shortest distance, is on the 2nd day and is about 28 km at most. The longest distance is on the 4th day of 58 km, with 22 km in the morning and 36 km in the afternoon. At an easy pace of 10 km per hour, this represents less than 6 hours of cycling this day. Guests will therefore, need to be reasonably fit although being part of the ‘lycra brigade’ is not a prerequisite. The terrain is flat, for virtually the entire trip. The weather in the summer months should be fine and sunny, however there are no guarantees. If it rains, you may get wet. There is not much we can do about the weather. We recommend but do not supply helmets.
Meet at the Sachsenhof Hotel in Berlin. The 1st and 6th nights, based at this 3 star hotel, in central Berlin. 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th nights en route to and in Dresden. Suitcases can be left in Berlin, and a travel bag taken to Dresden. A shuttle travel bag service transports all travel bags between hotels. All guests are required to bring their own small backpacks and to pack any items required for use en route, such as warm clothing, a rain jacket, water and any snack treats.

This relaxed, full day cycling tour takes you from the centre of Berlin either through the Tiergarten or from Viktoria Luise Platz and then west through the City’s affluent western suburbs to the forests to the south-west of the Capital, around Wannsee lake and on to Potsdam, famous for its magnificent castles and parks.
On the way you will cycle through the Grunewald, past Wannsee (where Berliners come to swim and relax), visit the villa which hosted the 1941 Wannsee Conference, ride over the Glienicke Bridge (where spies were exchanged at the height of the Cold War) and see and visit many other sights. Right in the middle of Potsdam is the Sanssouci Palace, the summer residence of Friedrich the Great with its English gardens. We also see the last home of the Hohenzollern family, Cecilienhof Palace in the New Garden where the Allies held their Potsdam conference in 1945 and reached agreement about the post-war shape of Europe.
Potsdam is also famous for its historic Old Town where you will discover streets, courts, baroque buildings, impressive churches and the Dutch Quarter. Around this area you will find many more ‘international’ sites that reveal something of the openness Potsdam is so famous for: the Russian Colony Alexandrowka, the Bohemian Weber Quarter, the Swiss Colonist Settlement as well as churches and Italianate villas.

Berlin is the capital city and one of 16 states of Germany, with a population nearing 4 million (a little less than New Zealand’s).
It is Germany’s largest and second most populous city and the eighth most populous urban area in the European Union. The city enjoys a temperate seasonal climate with round one third of its territory comprising forests, parks, gardens, rivers and lakes.
The city was subject to 363 air raids during WWII from 1940 to 1945 with so much damage that much of it has had to be rebuilt, often with the benefit of extraordinary architecture and urban design.
