Ride approx 350 miles from London to Amsterdam, Europe's most cycle-friendly city! Cycling through the picturesque countryside of rural England, we cross the Channel and continue across the flat landscapes of France and West Flanders. Stopping in the magical city of Bruges en-route is a real highlight. We continue through the low-lying fields of Dutch Zeeland, protected from the sea by huge barrages, and head north to Amsterdam. After 4 long days of cycling, the sight of Amsterdam's canals, cobbled streets and wonderful architecture will evoke a real sense of excitement and achievement!

From striking Budapest, the capital of Hungary on the famous River Danube, we head north on flat roads to the border with Slovakia. We ride through beautiful landscapes of plains, forests and lakes, the terrain getting progressively hillier before reaching the slopes of the Tatra Mountains, taking us over 1000m high. This creates perfect preparation for the highest passes, and makes the trip very achievable for cyclists who are new to mountainous terrain. En-route we pass traditional farming villages, and towns with beautiful well-preserved medieval buildings, gaining a great insight into the history and culture of these fascinating countries. Once the mountains are behind us, it's predominantly downhill to Krakow, the cultural capital of Poland.

The valleys and ridges of the chalk downs west and south of the historic city of Salisbury set the scene for this challenging day of cycling. Our route is a hilly 50-mile course that takes us through beautiful valleys, woodland and small villages. Much of the route is rolling, with short climbs and descents, though there are several longer and more significant climbs to tackle. This is not a day to undertake without training! A shorter loop through the same beautiful hills and valleys provides an alternative challenge (approx 25 miles), while the accessible, one-mile route will take riders around the perimeter of the hospital site. A range of hand and powered-bikes will be available to try out that will suit people with most levels of injury and the spinal centre staff will be on hand to assist with transfers.

Awaiting us are spectacular views of mountain peaks, alpine valleys and hanging glaciers to make the long twisting climbs worthwhile! Our challenge ends with two of the toughest and most renowned ascents in the region: the demanding Col du Galibier and the steep hair-pin bends of Alpe d'Huez. Conquering these mountains will earn you a life-long sense of achievement and give you something in common with the most elite cyclists in the past 100 years! This is a very strenuous challenge and you will need to train extremely hard to succeed.

Our challenge is to cycle the breadth of the UK across some of the most spectacular and wild countryside that England has to offer. Leaving the West Coast we head inland, carving our way over the Cumbrian Mountains and southwards through the Lake District National Park. From Kendal we head east, crossing into Yorkshire, through the heart of the famous Dales and onto our destination: the East Coast and the historic town of Whitby. Our route takes us 'up pass and down dale' as we traverse the country: gruelling climbs, magnificent descents and stunning scenery await us! This is a challenge for the hardy, taking whatever the Lakes and the Dales might throw at us. We will feel a wonderful sense of achievement when we reach the fabulous town of Whitby!

Our challenging bike ride takes us through beautiful, diverse regions in three Central American countries, from Panama City northwest to Managua in Nicaragua. We cycle through banana and pineapple plantations, take in stunning Caribbean coastal scenery, pass smoking volcanoes and climb though primary rainforest. On this unforgettable challenge we tackle approx. 435 hot, humid kilometres - a tough undertaking, but what an experience!

Our exciting and challenging route takes us from the Mekong valley through spectacular mountain scenery, witnessing the traditional way of life in the remote, friendly villages we pass. Challenging cycling and cultural discovery - this trip has it all!

Our adventure ends in Luang Prabang, one of the most impressive cities in South-East Asia, where the gilded temples form a beautiful and timeless backdrop to the boats plying their trade on the surrounding rivers. We enjoy our free day exploring this cultural gem.

Undulating roads take us past hidden bays and fishing villages, with beautiful sandy beaches and blue sea to one side, and green mountain slopes thick with rainforest to the other. It is one of the most scenic cycling destinations you could hope for without climbing mountains! Although the hills we encounter are fairly gentle, we have some long hot days in the saddle, and will be glad to reach Paraty, a beautiful small town tucked away at the end of the historic Gold Trail. After time to enjoy this little gem, we head to Rio, the most famous city in South America, where we have time to celebrate and explore.

The Great Wall of China is our constant companion for the week as it stretches for 6000km in a snaking line across China; we have time to appreciate the small section we are following as it meanders across the mountains. It conjures up a sense of history which is difficult to grasp until you have had the opportunity to experience it. With several climbs to tax us along the route we will certainly feel our legs but the sheer privilege of seeing this land and its people will outweigh any aches and pains. This challenge is physically demanding, it has been graded moderate but expect a tough day or two in the saddle. It does offer fabulous scenery and a fascinating insight into a rich culture and history as a reward for all your hard work.

India offers a broad diversity of landscapes, people and wildlife, with an incredible mix of colourful cultures and fascinating history at every turn. From the most spectacular, serene landscapes to vibrant, bustling villages and towns - India offers an unforgettable experience! This exciting and adventurous challenge takes us to the famed Golden Temple of Amritsar, in Northern India, before heading into the beautiful mountainous state of Himachal Pradesh. Our route follows the contours of the western Himalayas, passing through dense forest, scenic tea plantations, farming terraces, remote villages and historic colonial hill stations, with a spectacular backdrop of snow-capped mountains. There are some demanding climbs and thrilling descents as we ride through this mountainous country. Our route also takes in Mcleod Ganj, the mountain-top home of the exiled Dalai Lama, and ends in Shimla, the former summer capital of British India. We celebrate our achievements with a ride on Shimla's scenic narrow-gauge railway that winds its way through the mountains.
